There's a surrounding sun terrace where you can relax with a drink from the hotel's pool bar. While the children are being entertained in the kids' club, you could head over to the gym for a workout, or join in one of the fitness classes which include aerobics and aqua aerobics. If you want to spend your days on the beach, El Ancla beach is a short walk from the hotel where you can relax with views of the Atlantic Ocean. The calm and shallow waters make it suitable for children. For evening entertainment, BlueBay Lanzarote hosts live shows suitable for the whole family, and children also have the choice of joining the kids' disco. Two of the hotel's bars are open late into the evening and both serve a selection of drinks and snacks.

BlueBay Lanzarote is 1.5km from the town centre of Costa Teguise and a 2km walk from El Ancla beach. For a day out with the kids, there's a water park a short walk from the hotel with pools, slides and entertainment suitable for the whole family. You can also take a day trip to Timanfaya National Park on the western side of the island, with views of the island's volcanic landscape. If you're a golf enthusiast, Lanzarote Golf Resort is an 18-hole course, 13km from the hotel.

The hotel has a buffet restaurant which offers a range of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner and hosts theme nights offering a variety of international cuisine. The three bars at the hotel serve a selection of international drinks and the pool bar also serves snacks such as sandwiches, burgers, salads and ice cream.

To keep active, take to the multi-sports court, have a game of football or join in with a fitness class. The hotel runs a kids' club that organises daily entertainment for children aged 4-12. There's also a playroom and an outdoor playground.

This place isn’t even a 3 star hotel. The customer service is non existent and the woman on reception with blonde hair is particularly rude and obnoxious. The breakfast is tolerable but the lunch and evening meals are appalling, so much so that we had to eat out for the whole week. Around the bar, near the pool was filthy and it took three days for the rubbish to be moved. The rooms are shabby to say the least the beds are stained and the sofa bed was falling to pieces. The bathroom continually had flies coming in even with the doors and windows closed. Definitely not a hotel to visit.

Not bad for a 3*

Just arrived back from a weeks visit to BlueBay. Rooms- the apartments are basic, but has everything you need. Big TV with English channels 1-5. Beds really comfy, however sheets were not changed all week. Towels are changed every 3 days, ours weren’t changed but a quick phone call to reception and clean towels were delivered within 10mins. Air conditioning was very much welcomed, and no extra charge which is always a bonus. Bathroom was fine with a shower, but no bath. Just a warning though, no lifts up to the 2nd and 3rd floors, so dragging suitcases up and down was a bit difficult. Pool area- plenty of sunbeds, but we did go out of season so don’t know what it would be like in the height of the season. The pool is absolutely freezing but You soon get used to it once you’re in though! The pool bar is open the majority of the day, self serve drinks and has a bar tender at all times. Entertainment- the entertainment staff are fabulous, they just don’t stop! Games for adults and kids throughout the day! The evening entertainment is ok, but again the staff make it entertaining! kids disco, and then something a bit more for the adults at 9.30. The games night, karaoke and bingo nights were all really enjoyable! Staff- the staff were all fabulous really friendly, especially the entertainment staff! The staff behind the bars and in the restaurant were all really helpful. Area around the hotel- Google maps said there was a supermarket less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel, but it is being refurbished so wasn’t open, however the town centre is about a 20 minute walk with a spar shop and lots of other shopping opportunities, there is a lovely costal walk if you fancy a stroll. The taxis from town to the hotel cost about €3 if you’ve got a lot of shopping, which we did when we bought water for the room. There was a complimentary bottle of water in the room on arrival. There is a shop on site with lots of gifts, as well as water and drinks in the fridge if you didn’t want to go into town. If you didn’t want to go into town there is another supermarket and bars about 10 minute walk Now to the part where I just can’t give the hotel the full marks. Food- if you like veal and fish you might be ok, but you will get sick of it, every night for 7 days. It all gets very samey, lunch and dinner consisted of pizza, chicken nuggets every night, pasta with tomato sauce, and then meat cooked on a griddle. Food was never very warm. The salad bar was lovely though, but chips and salad for lunch and dinner every day got a bit boring. The pool bar also had food throughout the day, burgers, hotdogs, chips and salad, not all very hot either. Desserts were again the same jelly, Ice cream, mousse and some cakes that all tasted the same. The best part of the food was breakfast. Bacon wasn’t brilliant, but sausages were nice, boiled eggs, fresh fried eggs and can get an omelette on request. Hash browns and beans were nice! Need to put your toast trough the toaster about 3 times, but didn’t really need to queue to use the toaster. There is a lovely Chinese restaurant (Emperor) 2 minutes walk from the hotel that is definitely worth a visit if you fancy something a bit different! However this is just our opinion of the food, you might visit and find lots to eat. One of us is picky and the other one eats quite a bit and we both felt the same regarding the food. We did enjoy our week at bluebay although I wouldn’t go all inclusive to this hotel again but if there was an option for bed and breakfast, I would definitely return!

Not impressed after an amazing 1st visit

I went here last August and was so impressed I booked to go back April and August this year. After my April break I'm worried. Kids club was closed or unable to be found. The jet2 rep went looking for them. No actual clue what was happening so daughter ended up there twice towards the end once it was finally figured out. Restaurant food was shocking, cold and only ate there in mornings in the end as the choice and temperature of the food was a disgrace. Ants where in the room and I wiped everything down myself with antibacterial wipes 2-3 times a day. Never had any of this last August. Hoping that reception give me atleast the room I've requested when I go back and that kids club have sorted their act out
