Didn’t know what to expect as never traveled to the Canary Islands . Such a fantastic place , the staff couldn’t be more helpful in these still challenging times. Room cleaned every day . Would go again.

Great option for an affordable holiday

We stayed here for a week and opted for half board. Initial impression of the place is that it’s a no frills resort with sufficient facilities, but some things are a little tired. After staying for a week, I can see why people enjoy this place and for the price that we paid, it was certainly worth it. We are used to Tui family resorts which are in my opinion more high end, but you pay a price for that. PROS – The room was clean and comfortable with a good size kitchenette that is good for self-catering. We were given a 2 bedroom apartment which was a nice surprise. The size of the resort isn’t too big, so you never feel far away from everything. Whilst it doesn’t have a ‘kids club’ as such, there is an entertainment facility with a free softplay and trampolining for people staying, mini golf course and paid for bowling. There were also weekday daily hourly activities for the kids. There are some nice restaurants all within a 1-5min walk of the resort and a supermarket right around the corner. There were other facilities that we didn’t use like the gym, indoor swimming pool, tennis courts and washing/drying machines. CONS – I am sure we had the worst room in the entire resort and I would try to avoid 1013 because it is noisy! It is located on a corner right outside the tennis courts, on a busy path and near the entertainment facility so you can hear the bowling. Some nights people were playing tennis till 21:30 and there was one night we could hear the bowling up until at least 22:30. Areas like the mini golf and the outdoor playground are really dated and tired looking; I almost wanted to purchase new golf clubs for them! Finally for us the buffet was underwhelming and I see why many people opt for self-catering. Breakfast was ok, but nothing to get excited about. Dinner though was mediocre and it’s the first time that we have been on half board and had to eat dinner out at least half the time. The options were limited and quite repetitive each day and it could be that we have been spoilt by other holidays, but I would just say manage your expectations of the food here and if we went again we would go self-catering. Things to note - • When you arrive your room will have some toiletries (shampoo, soap and shower gel), but they do not refill and it is not sufficient for a family of 4. • The kitchenette doesn’t have any washing up equipment (e.g. detergent or sponge), but otherwise is decently equipped. • The rooms do not have AC and it's probably ok up to the high 20's, but after that it's pretty warm. • There are age limits for certain areas of the soft play and that can limit younger children (e.g. only kids 6+ can go on the big slide section and trampolining). • The supermarket prices of the Dino marts near the hotel is much higher than if you walk into town and go to Spar. • People have mentioned this already, but the pools are all saltwater and can be a bit chilly. The pools do allow inflatables as it’s a pretty plain pool without much to do. • The closest beach is in Playa Bastian which is about a 10min walk, but it’s quite a small beach and not as nice as Playa del Jablillo which is about an extra 10min walk. There are playgrounds along the way which is helpful with kids. • Rooms 1025 – 1037 look like the best rooms which are pool facing. We also heard that rooms above the buffet are quite good (see the picture for number).
