Lovely hotel. Superb staff, couldn't be more helpful and friendly from the receptionist to the cleaner. Spotless throughout even the gardens were immaculate. Really spacious apartment with sitting area, well equipped kitchen Superb balcony with table 4 chairs and 2 loungers. Our balcony was really sunny which is just what we had asked for, so top marks to this hotel for listening. We were also celebrating a special anniversary, and there was a bottle of fizz waiting when we arrived. Fantastic!! Although it's a fair way from the sea, it us situated close to lots of bars and restaurants and the Yumbo centre. Some of the rooms got very little sun, so would recommend asking for a sunny room if that's what you want. Breakfast was good with lots of choice, only downside was poor quality juice and coffee, both from machines which we found dire! Can't comment on other meals as we ate out. Animation team were good, we played Boule and did yoga..evening entertainment not really to our taste, and was held outside when the weather was decidedly chilly. Overall Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We went last week to Sol Barbacan, for the sixth time. Rooms are clean, and during covid there has been done a lot of renovation, so everything looks brand new. All the staff is verry nice, and handy for us most of them speak Dutch. Our children (6 & 3 years) had a wonderful time here, the animation team was verry good with the children. The weather was a little inconstant so when the sun was out also the water running belt came out, our son loved that. We only missed Billy a little he was only their ones during our 9 days stay. And kids-disco was too late in the evening for our children. There is also a nice animation program for adults. The Mall "JUMBO" is on walking distance and the beach is only a 20 min walk. If you don't have half-pension there is u a supermarket across the road. We are looking forward to coming back.

Havent been to Gran Canaria for years so was a bit uneasy about this holiday. Must have picked the best hotel in Playa Del Ingles without a doubt! Reception very friendly , rooms and hotel spotlessly clean, pools fantastic we loved everything about this hotel the only downfall was i could only stay for 2 days as it was fully booked so had to go to another hotel for 5 nights . But so very very pleased i decided to book for the 2 nights otherwise i would not have found what is going to be my favourite hotel in the future. Booked up again for April though now, for a week cant wait to come back ! Been to a lot of Melia hotels this one tops them all 5 stars well deserved all round !!!!
