Enjoyable Stay
Just returned from a 5 night break here, had a lovely chilled out time. Always something nice available at every meal time. All staff seemed happy and almost Always with a smile. We would definitely go back again. Some of the reviews we feel are quite harsh, especially the senior barman, who worked very hard to make sure that the bar was well kept. (Top Tip: slip him a couple of euros now and again) They probably don't get paid very much and rely on tips. Pool good, all areas kept clean and tidy. If you are after a lively holiday or have children who need occupation then you should probably look elsewhere, not much around the area. All in all, a good value break, but don't expect 5 star quality at this price range. Another tip, No 66 bus to the airport will save you 35 to 40 euros for the trip home vs a taxi, and stops by the roundabout 200m from the hotel. I will leave you with one last observation, why on earth do people use Ry@n@!r ? Never again but that's another story.
Ok place
Generally a good little place to stay in Maspalomas. 30 minute walk to the beach or into the shopping centre. Roof terraces on the deluxe bungalows are brilliant. Food was basic, usual continental bacon and sausage ..don't expect back bacon and cumberland lol. They call gravy 'meat sause' which amused me, but generally it was meat and fish or pasta with chips, veg or rice. Drinks were generally good, not watered down. Only downside was the plumbing, the bath leaked through the overflow and through the ceiling and the bathroom sink leaked at the base too!
Satisfactory. You get what you pay for
Food is generally good but could do with better selection. One very rude old man on reception who seems to work afternoons. Old man behind the bar was very rude, ignorant, and was in a bad mood most of the time and he seemed to take his frustration with his job out on the customers. This man should not be allowed contact with people. Young waiters were very helpful and polite. Our room needed a bit of attention as some of the decor looked tired. Don't bother with TV if you don't speak Spanish. A good walking distance from everything so don't book if walking is an issue or you are on a tight budget and can't afford to pay for taxis. Trip to nearest beach area was about 4 euros. Entertainment was poor generally but the girls try to provide something. Pool table costs 1 euro but the cues are so old that I got splinters from them. Swimming pool looked clean and well maintained. They have scales in the reception to weigh your bags for return flight which cost 1 euro but should really be free as a courtesy. We would go to Gran Canaria again but not this hotel.
