A cut above the rest

This week's holiday was booked with Tui, which deserves none of the credit for this excellent hotel. The hotel is in an excellent location on top of a low cliff above the beautiful, sandy beach on the south west corner of Fuerteventura. It has direct access to the beach. Our room (#6) with balcony over the sea was large with a sofa and with a high quality bathroom. We stayed on a half board basis and frankly the cuisine was excellent, with a wide choice of dishes and, for instance a choice of 2 fishes (and meats) every evening cooked in front of one, the choice changing every day. The restaurant, wth inside or outside dining overlooked the ocean. The quality of service was good. Most of the guests were German and there was a general air of relaxed calm. There were plenty of sun beds for everyone, even if some guests got up before the sun, to reserve their sunbeds with the traditional Heineken, (??) On 2 evenings they had entertainment (once a DJ; once a guitar duo). Not our taste but they finished before 1030, which was reasonable. We had only one complaint and it's a sign of a good organisation that they dealt with it promptly and effectively. (The DJ startted up his loud music again after the show, presumably for his own benefit, and as soon as we raised the issue it was stopped.) By the way, Room 6 is directly over the music/dance room.

Great place !… (but room for improvements)

The XQ is clearly a fantastic place right in one of the nicest beach of the island. The personal from the reception to the bar and restaurant are all fantastic in a relaxed atmosphere. Great pool and view. We had the chance to be there 3 time in 2022 and despite it is a great hotel; considering the very high price,there is some room for improvements. - The buffet ; aside from the fact the quality decreased a bit ; such buffet is not in line with the standing of the hotel. You must really consider selling the room without half bord and have a nice « à la carte » restaurant ». The « a la carte »lunch is great so why not do that also in the evening ? - During our 3rd visit in November the pool was not warm enough. On the jacuzzi side ; there was a terrible trash smell (coming from an outside trash) that made it unsustainable to relax in this area. The jacuzzi was warm but broken (no bubble). - Despite 3 visit in less than 1 year ; we got a room with a smaller balcony and clearly not with the best view. Not a big deal since all the premium room are very nice and similar but I would have expected some more attention. I hope this will help you to improve and make the experience even better.

Best hotel on Fuerteventura?

Brilliant hotel. Very clean everywhere, food quality excellent. Overlooking beach. All rooms have direct a sea view or side sea view. All staff so attentive and made this a real welcome return to vacationing. We had stayed here 3 times previously but our first return in 4 years. We have already booked for May 2024.
