Club Hotel Drago Park

Primasol Drago Park is an All Inclusive family-friendly hotel just north of Costa Calma on Fuerteventura, the second largest of Spain's Canary Islands. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, cafés and bars in this modern resort. The hotel is made up of several buildings dotted around a garden. The outdoor pool area is surrounded by palm trees, and there are two swimming pools, one of which is a shallower pool especially for children. The main pool is heated, so you can swim in cooler weather. There's a pool bar for refreshments throughout the day. Coffee, tea and sweet treats are served there in the late afternoon. The hotel also has a buffet restaurant and a bar inside. Primasol Drago Park has plenty of options if you're looking for an active holiday. If you want to keep up with your fitness routine, you can work out at the hotel's gym. You can play squash and take part in fitness activities organised by the hotel's staff. You could also have a game of football during the day, or, if you'd prefer, volleyball, and there are pool tables available. The kids' club is organised by the hotel for children aged 4 to 12 years old.

The popular resort of Costa Calma is 1.2km away, with its long, sandy beaches. It's a modern town, mostly built since the 1970s. Costa Calma beach is 1.5km from the hotel. It's linked with a few other beaches at low tide, and when the wind is right it's popular for water sports and windsurfing. If you fancy a day trip, you can visit Puerto del Rosario, the island's capital, which is 70km away. It's well known for its shopping, and the two main spots are León y Castillo, which is the main shopping street, and the Las Rotondas shopping centre.

The main restaurant at Primasol Drago Park puts on a buffet for breakfast and dinner. Lunch is offered as a buffet at the pool bar. Local alcoholic and soft drinks are served at the bar until late, and at the pool bar throughout the day.

In addition to the kids' pool and club, younger guests can have fun in the hotel's indoor playroom and outdoor play area.

All of the rooms at Primasol Drago Park have a balcony or terrace. Inside, you'll have Wi-Fi access and a TV with satellite channels.

Sleep Quality

Perfect, Just Perfect.

I was nervous as this was my first solo trip. Other hotels in Corralejo had bad reviews as did Drago Park. However, I needn't have worried. I was after a quiet relaxing break and that's exactly what I got. There was no evening entertainment and I presume this was due to coronavirus restrictions, but that was fine for me as I could get early quiet nights. Again, possibly due to coronavirus, but there was plenty of sun beds, even later in the day there was never a problem getting one with plenty spare. There was never any sunbed "reserving" going on before breakfast as they disinfect and hose down the whole pool area including the sunbeds during breakfast, and it was at least 10am before they were dry to use. All sunbeds I used were good quality and didn't see any broken. I've read complaints about the food, but to be honest, I don’t know what some people expect. Yes, there was always a salad station, and there was always rice, but there were also two different meat options and often a fish alongside, and plenty of vegetables. There was also an option of a goulash, curry or moussaka or other dish each night. Yes, it may have been nice to know what theme the food would be that night, but it didn't ruin my meals or break. There was always plenty to eat, breakfast, lunchtime and evening meal. You certainly wouldn't go hungry. I didn't interact with the staff that much, but they were always friendly and greeting you. One lady, forgotten her name, was always bubbly and singing even though she seemed to work from breakfast through until the bar at 23:00. I was there for 7 nights and saw her every day! The hotel is placed a little out of the way and there isn't much to do, but that's what I wanted. It’s built into the side of the flatlands and from the reception to the pool its around 5 floors. That said there are lifts and there was another person using a mobility scooter, so should be accessible for all. The beach is a little walk but doesn't really take that long to walk and there is a bus that operates several times a day. It is located near the "motorway" but you can't really hear any traffic noise. There is a mini supermarket nearby along with a small bar, gift shop and eatery. You can also walk to the west side of the island via the reasonably well walked path. Take plenty of water though especially on a hot day, while is a reasonably easily walk, climbing up and down the dune face the other side is hard and thirsty work! The rooms were always kept clean with no complaints on the bed or bathroom etc. My only complaint, if it can be called that, is my bottle of half-drunk diet coke was taken, presumably as rubbish, even though it was not in or near the bin ... not that I was worried, but I was going to use the bottle to hold additional water when on my walks. I absolutely would not hesitate to stay here again, but, it’s a big wide world.

Wouldn't recommend

Well where to start. I don't normally complain BUT if you would like a holiday eating pasta, rice and salad then go ahead. Not much choice of food. The hotel is in the middle of no where, nothing around a Chinese 30 minutes walk away. No bars or restaurants out side the hotel. The hotel it self is big and clean. Me and my partner upgraded to all inclusive plus (waste of money) had to wait 2 days to get robes. No difference in the drinks, robes have seen better days. Its great for kids but if your a couple I would reconsider somewhere else. Wouldn't give it 2 stars let alone 3 plus or even 4 as the hotel states.
