Perfect family holiday
Perfect hotel for what we wanted. When we initially arrived we thought it was a bit tired and not as good as other hotels we have stayed at but our view soon changed as our week went on. It is a perfect hotel for a family with everything you need. The food wasn't quite as good as previous places we have stayed at in Corralejo, we missed having potato hash browns/or similar at breakfast and there wasn't always pain au chocolates but when they were available they were some of the best ones we have had. The fresh omelettes were really lovely for breakfast and other great eggs options on offer. The bacon wasn't very nice and there were only proper sausages available a few days we were there. There was always something nice to have for lunch and dinner, with freshly cooked fish and salads, lovely Canarian style potatoes and veg etc. Great Pizza, always chips and other nice meat dishes. There were theme nights too, Asian and Canarian. There was plenty of choice even for our boys aged 11 and 8, they tried lots of different foods and didn't just stick to chips and onion rings. We moved rooms when we first got there as we were given a ground floor apartment and prefer to be first or second floor, this wasn't a problem at all and we had a perfect room afterwards overlooking the quieter pool. Thank you to the guy in reception, sorry I didn't get his name but he was from Belgium but had a slight London/Spanish accent and is married to a Spanish/Scottish women. He was really lovely and helpful. All the main pools were heated even if they didn't always feel very warm. One pool was really warm then the one attached to it was pretty cold when you first got in but felt fine after a few seconds to do some proper swimming. The quieter pool with the mini pool in the middle was our favourite. It was a prefect temperature, you just had to jump in to get over the initial shock, then it was lovely. Really quiet and very clean. The whole place was clean even if a bit tired and in need of some TLC/renovation. They did seem quite short staffed, but all the staff were really lovely and worked so hard. Juan, the main barman was a lovely guy, really happy and poured big measures of Rum!! All the barman were great (one bar lady was a bit less smiley) and the restaurant staff, couldn't fault them. The entertainment team, Rayco and Gustavo, were brilliant, our boys loved them especially as Gustavo was so good at football! He was a big hit. They have a great little Astroturf football pitch and sand volleyball court there, which is ideal for our age boys. This hotel is perfect for families, our boys made loads of friends. It is really safe here and so we hardly saw them when we were back at the hotel (always a bonus!). I had a massage in the Spa on our second day, which was a really lovely way to unwind at the start of our holiday (I really recommend doing this). Our boys went to the organised football tournament with Gustavo so my husband joined me afterwards in the thermal suite where there is a lovely hot jacuzzi, massive sauna, cold bucket shower and a rain shower. This was a lovely experience and the Spa let us have the hour in the thermal suite for free as it was my birthday that week, which was a really lovely touch. The Spa is beautiful, it is the one part of the hotel which looks very new and swish! On my actual birthday I came back to our room in the afternoon to a lovely note saying happy birthday and a bottle of fizz from the hotel. We didn't tell them beforehand, so they must check everyone's dates of births and provide this service. The note said to contact reception and they will make up a special birthday table that evening in the restaurant. We didn't do this though as that night we ate out for a change but there were lots of people having birthdays in the restaurant this week and they all had cake and candles bought to them, which is really nice. I would recommend staying here as a family, we got a very good deal for 10 days. I know some of the reviews are a bit worrying but you get what you pay for. This is not a 5 star hotel by any means, if you are quite picky then this isn't for you, but we found it great for what we paid and I would go back again if we could get another good deal. A really lovely holiday, thank you to all the staff at Aloe Club!
Great Holiday..!
My family & I. A group of nine, in three rooms stayed at the Aloe Club for a week in February. Having booked in a bit of a rush, as this was a last minute booking. I approached this holiday with some trepidation after reading the various trip advisor reports. However, I can say hand on heart that we had an amazing time. We called the hotel from the UK and asked for ground floor rooms and near to each other if possible. Upon arrival that’s exactly what we were given. Reception was warm and welcoming. The hotel and it’s services were explained to us. The rooms themselves were basic but freshly refurbished, clean, and functional. Everything was in working order. There are seven pools, three are heated, those that aren’t are good for curing a hangover, but little else. The kids loved them all in any case. The restaurant is clean, and spacious. The staff here work tirelessly to keep the place moving efficiently. All are friendly and helpful. The food was better than previous reports led us to expect. What was meant to be hot, was, and what was meant to be cold, was too. All the basics are catered for. Lots of bread available. Great selection of meals, meat, fish, or vegetarian at each sitting. Themed nights were good too. We experienced, Spanish night, Chinese night, and Italian night. All very well presented. The children’s area, and club were small. But was more than adequate for a week’s stay. Points to note are, you get what you pay for. This hotel punches well above its weight for what you’re paying. We were lucky to get three of the refurbished rooms. If you want to be close to the action in town. This is a bit of a walk away, but only a 4 Euro taxi ride. I’d like to say we’ll be back. But we seldom return to the same place twice. However, there is nothing we experienced at this hotel that would stop us from returning
Nice Hotel
We did have a great week in Fuerteventura, so it was hard deciding whether to give this 3 or 4. Negatives Rooms are abit tired Paper cups, even at night. The only time you get a glass is at mealtimes. No food from 10 am to 1 pm. Snack bar in the afternoon is poor, make your own toastie or a hot dog Entertainment is quite a depressing area Distance to Center But the positives Very clean room and comfortable Comfy bed Great shower Great aircon Strong drinks Food good and lots of options Lovely staff Nice pool area I wouldn’t go again but it was a good base. We went out every night, taxi to Center 4.5 euro. Walk over the dunes to the beach, the sand and sea are amazing. In summary it is not a bad hotel, just don’t over expect. If you get a good deal go,
