Lovely Adult Only Boutique Hotel
We stayed here for a week 08th to 15th March - we hadn't been to Corralejo for over 20 years and were looking for a small adult only hotel close to the centre. This hotel was ideal, very relaxing,no rushing for sun beds every morning and all staff were approachable, friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was a good mix of continental buffet and hot food cooked to order and there was never a long wait for service. The location is ideal for exploring the main town. We look forward to returning again next year.
Honest review of H10 Ocean Dreams
I would recommend this hotel on a B&B basis, despite having visited half board. Myself and my partner stayed at the hotel for 9 nights, arriving to the beautiful sunshine. The first thing you need to know is that the set up of the hotel is slightly unique to its nearby counterparts. The hotel serves foods on an ‘al a carte’ basis rather than the typical buffet style. Whilst the difference brings courteous staff and a more exclusive service offering, it provided other complications. For example, the service was sometimes slow and the meals were difficult to choose from as they were a bit ‘out there’, absent of the typical crowd pleasers. Whilst we are up for tasting varied cuisine, the menu offered choices that were hard to imagine, such as Lamb with liquorice. I would advise the hotel to provide pictures of their dishes if they are to remain with a menu that is ‘boujee’ or at least add in steak or tapas. The restaurant did also serve specials of the day, which were a much more safe bet. When we ordered alternative dishes to the special, we were delivered food that was cold or not cooked thoroughly. Breakfast on the other hand was a different matter, tasty omelettes, toasties and continental breakfasts! The breakfast offering was really good and for that reason I would stick with breakfast only and lose the evening meal. The facilities of the hotel were good, always very clean, and the rooms were well designed. I could not grasp what the target audience of the hotel was as it promoted a kind of ‘health club’ vibe, though the gym is small and other facilities nice but basic. In terms of entertainment, the hotel put on live music which was excellent and conducted fun demonstrations on how to make sangria. Otherwise, the hotel was extremely quiet, no pumping music, with a sea of middle aged sleepers around the pool at 3pm. With that said, if you want to relax in the sunshine, without the noise of children, or overbearing animation teams, then this hotel would suit you perfectly. Finally, we believe holidays are what you make them, and we had a great time, especially with the carnival on in Corralejo. We just found the food a little problematic, though we’re sure we still put on a few of those holiday pounds! Wishing you a lovely holiday wherever you decide. Lauren
“ An ok Experience, that left us like the food, Luke Warm”
I have just returned from a 10 night stay at the hotel staying with my partner. We stayed on a Half board basis and we’re given Room 4201. Firstly the location of hotel is excellent, a 5 minute walk max into the town centre where you will find lots of bars, Restaurant's and live music. The beach near the hotel is more of a small cove, but the larger beach is roughly a 35-40 minute walk. You can catch the number 6 bus for €2.50 or a taxi for €7. The large beach (near the Rui hotel) is beautiful and the sea is so clear. Plus points about the hotel: Staff are very friendly and polite The hotel communal areas are always very clean and tidy Live music around the pool is nice touch The swimming pool is very nice and has a lovely day bed area. Good section of food/fruit at breakfast. Negatives: The food at dinner is overall poor, especially if you select an option which isn’t a ‘special of the day’. My partner selected the fish fillet, which was cold in the middle (clearly raw) when we complained, the half eaten fish was simply put back on the frying pan and returned, not a new fresh meal which was poor. When selecting the Angus Burger the burger again was cold in the middle and under cooked. This led to an upset stomach on holiday! Please make sure you ask for everything well done! Finally for a starter both the vegetable wok and the sautéed Asparagus were both stone cold. We did complain to staff, who brought a fresh plate, however this was clearly just microwaved. The room whilst it had everything you needed, was on the small side, no mirror above the dressing table and there were pencil marks near fittings, holes, and marks which were not ideal. Moreover above the shower for the tube light, the live and neutral wire had not been trunked/covered properly and was left exposed. Whilst the waiting staff were very friendly, the wait times were sometimes very long before you got served. Finally on four occasions we didn’t have hot water for a shower, after complaining on each occasion we were told there was an issue with the boiler. Overall, I would recommend this hotel purely on a bed and breakfast basis, and if you haven’t found an alternative hotel, however I would recommend looking at other options first! .
