What's the weather like on the Costa Blanca in May?
The Costa Blanca is a popular destination for beach holidays and is located along the coastline of southern Spain. It has a Mediterranean climate which brings hot, dry summers and mild, damp winters to the region. Temperatures are nice and warm in May without being really hot, and it’s still quite a bit cooler than summer. If you want to go sightseeing along the coast in comfortable conditions, as well as spending some time at the beach, this is a great month to visit the Costa Blanca.Averages
The average temperature on the Costa Blanca is 20ºC in May, with highs of 24ºC in the peak of the afternoon. Although it’s lovely during the day, things still get quite cool at night. The average low drops to 13ºC after dark, so make sure you bring some warmer layers for evenings out. Around 30mm of rain’s expected in May over the course of three days, so showers are quite rare. It’s not rare to see the sun, though, as there are ten long hours of sunshine each day this month, while the Mediterranean Sea’s a refreshing 17ºC if you want to take a dip.
