What's the weather like in the Seychelles in April?
With their tropical climate and close proximity to the equator, the Seychelles have both wet and dry seasons during the year, influenced by trade winds blowing in across the Indian Ocean. In April, the Seychelles are generally very warm with calm weather, while the winds change direction as the northwest monsoon ends and the southeast monsoon begins. If you want hot temperatures and don’t mind the occasional rain shower, April is the ideal month to visit the Seychelles.
Averages
On the largest islands in the Seychelles, Mahe, the average temperature in April is a beautifully warm 28°C. In the afternoons temperatures get hotter, reaching an average high of 32°C, so you’ll need to apply sun cream regularly and seek shade in the peak of the day. After dark, temperatures dip only slightly to a low of 24°C, so you’ll be grateful for air conditioning at night. Around 170mm of rain is expected this month, but showers are usually short and sharp.
