What's the weather like in Cambodia in September?
September is a hot and rainy time of year in the southeast Asian country of Cambodia, with heavy downpours and high levels of humidity during the month. Although it’s very wet in September, showers are usually short and sharp, while the country’s beautifully green thanks to the water and sunshine. Rain’s usually more prolonged in coastal regions, so the beaches are very quiet this month, but this is a great time of year to visit the peaceful temples and bustling cities, as long as you don’t mind getting wet.
Averages
In Sihanoukville on the southern coast, temperatures reach an average high of 29°C at this time of year, and with lows of 25°C you’ll be grateful for air conditioning at your hotel. Further north in Siem Reap, temperatures climb as high as 31°C on average, with lows of 24°C after dark. On average, Cambodia expects 280mm of rain over September, so make sure you bring a light waterproof jacket.
