What's the weather like in Cambodia in January?
Located between Thailand and Vietnam in South-east Asia, Cambodia is the perfect holiday destination if you love relaxing on the beach, exploring historic sites or hiking through the mountains. In January the country is warm, sunny and dry, making this one of the most popular times of the year to visit. Although the heat is pleasant and bearable in January, you’ll still need to wear high factor sun cream and seek shade in the peak of the day.
Averages
In the coastal regions, the average temperature in January hovers around 26°C, while the mountains are a little cooler with averages of 20°C. In Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital, temperatures reach a high of 32°C at this time of year with lows of 20°C. The weather’s very similar in the northern city of Siem Reap, with highs of 31°C and lows of 19°C. If you’re visiting the beautiful beaches, the Indian Ocean is a beautifully warm 28°C in January, perfect for swimming, snorkelling or scuba-diving.
