This hotel is located in the centre of Lisbon, a short walk from Eduardo VII Park and Marquês de Pombal Square. Guests can walk down Avenida da Liberdade and visit the many shops and restaurants. It was a very good located hotel. Only 20 minutes on foot to the centre if you like walking. The room was clsssic ibis style. Neither big nor small. Wifi was good. I only stayed for one night and I definitely enjoyed. Staff offered me an americano free of charge. They were very friendly.

Please bear in mind the title of this piece when reading the review. The hotel is undergoing a lot of renovation. As a result of this there is a lot of noise and coming and going of workers. The rooms and bathrooms have been renovated to a good standard. I stayed here before and the improvement is vast. The rooms are tiny, but adequate and it is also worth bearing in mind the price when thinking of these things. The King size bed was very comfortable, there are tea and coffee making facilities enough wall plugs to satisfy the modern traveller and the room was clean. We experienced some problems while there, most were solved appropriately. The hot water system failed on one day of a four day stay which was VERY inconvenient. The staff were very helpful and at one stage offered a refund and to find me a new hotel. Fortunately this was not needed as the hot water was restored by the evening. The window in the first room did not lock. As this gave on to the scaffolding for the renovations I was quite concerned but we were moved to a fresh room with no scaffolding. Rather than a window this had sliding doors to a balcony which also did not lock! I mentioned some problems with the shower which was overflowing and had a leak in the shower hose. This was not solved by the time I checked out. The staff ate reception were part of the reason that I liked it so much. They were very professional, charming and helpful at all times. The breakfast room was not accessible due to renovations but I was told that any food from their menu could be offered in my room. Having looked at the prices I decided to eat elsewhere. I can never justify why an hotel can charge 3 euros for a beer when the shop down the road, who is also making a profit, can sell the same item for 80 cents. The location of the hotel suited us perfectly as it is close to two Metro stations and seemed very central. Our stay was not a tourist style stay but we were able to visit some local landmarks. There are a number of restaurants close to the hotel with a huge range of prices for what seemed to be the same type of food. Some of the little pastelarias seem to offer the best value for money. Despite the problems I will unhesitatingly stay again if I need to visit Lisbon. I have read some of the other reviews which tend to be a little critical but when I look at the price that I paid and the value I received for my money I am more than satisfied.
