Fantastic Hotel in a great location

Jun 2022 | amandatE7873GX

On arrival the hotel staff were very friendly. The studio apartment was perfect for us and the balcony was lovely where the sun shone around 5pm every evening. Pool is fantastic and plenty of sun loungers for everyone. Staff are very friendly. Location of the hotel is 10 min walk to beach and 10 min walk to Old Town where there are plenty of shops, and restaurants. Breakfast was lovely and there is a great selection. The only issue we had was we were woken around 6am some mornings with doors banging closed and opening. Not sure if this was staff or residents. We were in room 104 on the first floor and we could hear the people in the room above walking around and moving furniture. Walls are very thin and this noise kept us awake. The beds are not very comfortable and the pillows weren't comfortable either.

June holiday

Stayed at this extremely well run hotel in the first week of June 22. Arrived after a 12 hour journey (including very long transfer) and checked in around 3 o clock. Was eventually allocated room 108 which was very nice and received the sun later in the afternoon. Pool was a very scenic area with plenty of sunbeds, many on terraces with natural shade. The pool was not surprisingly on the cool side but that is no doubt because it was early in the season. The room was lovely with sufficient storage and plenty of points to plug in phone chargers etc. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was fine and the shower always had hot water. We stayed on a b & b basis and the breakfast buffet was comprehensive and decent quality. Coffee is from a machine and was pretty good. We ate in the bar a few times at lunchtime and the food was both value for money and top quality. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Special thanks to Fabio who was very helpful on our last day. Have to say was pleasantly surprised by Lagos, we had visited previously on day trips from Alvor but had not really realised what a terrific range of bars and restaurants there are. Loved Casa da Prego restaurant and Beer & Co bar. Pub quiz in Stars bar was entertaining and well structured. The mini golf near the hotel was great as well. The only downside to staying in Lagos is the lengthy transfer you may have to endure (we were sat on a coach provided by Jet2 for 3 hours!) and we would definitely recommend getting a taxi transfer as journey is then less than an hour.

Cheap and nice!

A great family hotel. We were here as a couple but there was a good mix of families and couples and it catered well for both. There are lots of sun beds and two decent sized pools (although they were still pretty cold this time of year but I’m sure will warm up with the weather!). The apartment had a great view of the pool, it’s basic but big and clean. The food/drinks are pretty cheap which is great and it’s very close to all the good bars and restaurants. Overall we found customer service to be a little lacking - staff weren’t super friendly but we found that generally in Lagos so we got used to it..! Would definitely come back!
