Be Live Family Palmeiras Village All-Inclusive 24H

Be Live Family Palmeiras Village is a family-friendly, all-inclusive resort, located on the outskirts of the resort of Armação de Pêra, on the Algarve. Relax in the garden area, with its sun terrace and two swimming pools or on one of the two beaches, which are within walking distance. You can also take it easy in the spa with its sauna and Turkish bath.

Energetic guests can enjoy a game of football, volleyball, tennis, basketball or aqua aerobics. Alternatively, join one of the fitness classes or partake in a workout in the gym. For the younger guests, there is a kid's club for children aged 8-12, as well as a mini club for 4-7 year olds.

The resort has four restaurants on-site, with 3 a la carte options, including a pan-Asian which sushi and noodle lovers won't want to miss. The buffet eatery offers both Portuguese and international options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, while the little guests will have their own selection of dishes to relish. For a mid-afternoon drink or pre-dinner aperitif, there are three bars to choose from, with two by the pool area and one in the lobby, each serving a selection of soft and alcoholic drinks. Armação de Pêra has a selection of taverns, restaurants, shops and water parks, all just a short drive or bus journey away.

Standard rooms are equipped with a 32” LCD TV with cable channels, air-con, a hairdryer and a couch (which can also be used as an additional bed.) Upgrade to a Sea View room where you will be able to take pleasure in admiring the beauty of the ocean, relaxing while listening to the sound of the waves and enjoying the calmness of this area of the Algarve. For those with multiple children, Family Suites are available for up to five guests.

The hotel is just 350m from a minimarket, which is right by the local bus stop from where services depart for Portimão, Albufeira and Armação de Pêra. Portimão is the largest town in the western Algarve, which is the ideal place for shoppers. But don't miss the beautiful Azulejo tile paintings in the Jardim 1o de Dezembro, which depict the history of Portugal. The Museu de Portimão is a must for fish lovers as you'll find out all about the town's main industry - sardines. If you're visiting Albuferia the children may twist your arm into taking them on a boat trip to see a different type of sea life - dolphins.

A great place for a family holiday

I had a bit of trepidation about coming here reading reviews but it is overall a very good family hotel that kids will love. Our transfer from Faro was a mini bus with 3 other people, which took about an hour and was quite chilled out after a long wait in the airport. The hotel reception is lovely and large with plenty of seating and a lobby bar to one side which shows all Premier League football on the TV. When you run out of the water in your room the Lobby Bar provides another bottle. All the hotel rooms stretch outwards in a V shape from reception. When we went the whole hotel was decorated for Halloween which was fantastic for kids. Well done to all the staff for this! Checking In was quick and easy, and we went through the third floor reception to internal lifts which took us to our double room on the fifth floor. We had a standard double with an extra sofa bed made up for a 5 year old, although it was two twins pushed together. I saw many rooms with the sofa bed made up so it would make more sense to have more rooms that include an extra bed. The room was standard view and looked onto a field/apartments with the sea in the distance but we had an amazing sunrise each morning. It was also very quiet and peaceful. We had two issues that required fixing and both were dealt with straight away. I haven’t experienced a pool view so cannot give an opinion but that was stated as 40 Euro extra p/n. All other facilities in the room were 4* level, the only negatives being the tiny packs of 3 tissues that seemed a waste of packaging and the hotel policy of taking deposit payments for towels and remotes etc. The Wi Fi was free but a lot of the time it was strangled, though it streamed Netflix OK for my son. I used my free inclusive data on my phone. The rest of the hotel is given to pools, restaurants and entertainment. I felt the pools were quite refreshing, especially when it is 25 degrees, but if you walk in half a step at a time, it will feel cold!! The second pool area, has 2 pools which also has some great slides for both old and young. Both these areas have bars which serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks – there were never any large queues. Both areas were popular when we were there but there was always seating and plenty of room in the pools. The second pool area also has a games room and is by the children’s clubs. The buffet food, we all thought was great and very well cooked with sittings at breakfast, lunch and dinner leaving us sometimes spoilt for choice – the pork was very tasty, but then so was the steak and chicken. I did read somewhere that you had to pay for ice cream, this is not the case; it was self-serve at lunch and dinner. The self-serve nibbles, situated below the buffet was open when the restaurant wasn’t, and through the night. This could be hit and miss though depending on how long some food had been sitting during quieter times. The entertainment was ok, however the timings were not great, kids loved the children’s disco, but it started at 9pm. Shows were advertised at 10pm, but one started randomly at 9.45pm and it wasn’t even the advertised show. A parrot show started one night after the kids disco and was curtailed for another show while the poor guy was in the middle of it. The venue itself is a bit like an old English nightclub that everyone has probably been drunk in at some point in their life. Only one member of bar staff was ever serving which was probably to limit people constantly ordering drinks, but just leads to large queues. A woman in front of me ordered 8 drinks one night, including more than 2 alcoholic drinks, the next night my wife went up and tried to order two rounds with a different member of bar staff and was told a maximum of two alcoholic drinks only, we didn’t want to queue again so went to the lounge bar to take a drink to the room. There is a small football court and a children’s park on site, which we used a lot. Outside the hotel you’ll find a small train which for 3.5 Euro takes you on a return trip into the local town 3km away where there is a lot of shops, restaurants and a beautiful large beach, this was great fun. There are also two amazing beaches close to the hotel, about a 5 min walk away where we spent a lot of late afternoons. I highly recommended taking trips to both of these. If you want to get out for the day I would suggest booking Zoomarine online, I did try and get information from the front desk at reception but that was limited, so spoke to the Jet2 rep who advised me that the best way to get there was to book an Uber using the app on my phone. This only cost 8.5 Euro for 3 of us and was not pre-booked. I managed to get a comfy Mercedes back for 14 Euro despite booking as I was leaving with the rest of the park. This was overall close to the 7 Euro p/p bus which goes round the hotels but faster and more comfortable. In Summary, the hotel was a great place for kids to stay and this provided everything that we wanted for a holiday. All the staff were very pleasant and hardworking and it seems like a big operation to keep the hotel running for so many guests so reviews should cut them a bit of slack if there is the odd niggle. I've rated it high as we got everything we wanted out of the hotel and holiday. This is probably not the hotel for you if you are after a busy nightlife or want loads of shops outside the hotel, but if you want somewhere family orientated or in a more relaxed area where there are beautiful beaches and a great little town 3km away then give it a whirl.

Brilliant Holiday

We have just returned from a great holiday at Palmerias Village. Great hotel for families with young children. Loads to do in the day with the childrens pool and slides. My 5 year old loved it. The All Inclusive is really good. Local beer is nice and also able to get cocktials and spirit drinks. Location is great, right next to a really nice beach with a fantastic snack bar and resturant. Also, other resturnats and bars close by. It's about a 30 minute walk to the bigger town, but there is a road train that leaves every hour from outside the hotel, which was great. The food for all inclusive was excellent quality. Massive selection and also great for the kids. Also the snack bar was great outside of the resurtant hours. Improvements would be: Need more staff on the bars - only one serving at a time which meant longer queues. Also, the night time entertianment could be better, but my 5 year old did love the mini Disco. There could also have been more outside bars open on an evening so we could sit and have a drink outside. All in all, a brilliant holiday, lovely weather for the October half term week. Didn't want to come home.

No lager at the pool bar. Only reason for 1 star. Otherwise bang on. Have to pay for basics that you would usually get in all inclusive, such as a kettle, safe, towels. Don't understand why. Factor in 2.50 euros a day for a safe. 10 euros per towel, no idea about a kettle. Oh and 10 euros for the TV remote
