Arrived early at the hotel,on arrival we were told no check in till 4 so we had around 5hrs to kill, we were extremely tired so we laid on the sunbed to rest around the pool, it was very hot the sun was beautiful, we went back to check in at 3.55 and was told very sternly that again check in was not till 4. Once In to our room we dropped our bags & was very impressed with our surroundings, very clean & Tidy. In the morning we went around the pool and decided to go for a swim as the weather was amazing! Absolutely 1000% do not go in this pool it's freezing!! Like someone has thrown Icecubes in & let them melt if I'm honest it's dangerous for anyone with a heart problem to even attempt a swim In it..The Hotel is not on the beach as described but pria de oura beach is lovely and we swam in the sea !Much warmer than the pool, but strong currents will take u if ur not careful. Not alot do do here so if your not a golfer I'd honestly give Portugal a miss this is my second time here and tbh will be my last. The spa in the hotel is not nice it's a salt water pool and no hot tub!! just a corner where u press a button in the pool, where the water hits u in the face hard , its very dark and depressing in there & far to many people in there all at once including kids screaming using it like a swimming pool, which I can't blame them as the out door pool is freezing as said. The cleaners are absolutely amazing we had Sara & Jean what two great ladies they can't do enough for you they are so pleasant This time of year nearly everything is closed, Staff are miserable & quite Rude in Shops and some restaurants are over charging or short changing you so watch out for that. Am I disappointed? A bit yes the only one thing is I got to see my friends Becci & Trev at the old house across the road but now that's closed! I'm looking forward to getting home to book my Florida holiday again. PRICE FOR SPA €19.50 INCLUDES SILLY BLUE CLOTHS HATS THAT HAVE TO BE WORN €20 EURO TO HIRE A TOWEL TO HIRE FOR THE BEACH OR POOL. Fairwell Portugal I won't be back

Stayed here on a self catering basis for 1 week in November 2021. Pros: Hotel reception is really nice - clean, comfortable and welcoming. Staff at this hotel were all very pleasant, always happy to help and polite. I had room 113 (first floor at the back). The room was a good size, bed was extremely comfortable and linen all spotless, no complaints. There was everything I needed - sofa, TV , balcony, small kitchen with utensils, bathroom had a small hairdryer. As a single traveller, I didnt make much mess so only had the cleaner in once during the week - it seems they just sweep the floor, make beds, empty bins and change towels. I was happy with this. Pool area is a good size, maintained very well and plenty of loungers. There is a room near the reception/bar with old books that you can swap/help yourself to - I love this in a hotel! The A/C can be used as a fan heater which i used every night as it was cool in the evenings when I was here. Location is great - a few minutes to supermarkets, bars and restaurants and there is a fairly quiet, very clean beach less than 10 mins walk away. Not cons (just suggestions): Could do with opening a door at the back of the hotel to the pool. It's a minor inconvenience if you have a room at the back and forget something. Takes a while getting there and back. They need a few ashtrays for the pool area. I had to ask for it from the bar on day 1 and they only had the one in the whole place. A lot of people were using paper cups etc which isn't the end of the world but, y'know. Save the rubbish. They could print a bar snack menu and have it on the wall as I didnt see any- there was QR codes on the bar but its not the most readily available info. Would be nice to have some background music poolside. All in all, for the price I paid I was extremely happy. It was my first time in Portugal and I had a very relaxing week.
