Authentic Marrakech accommodation

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were looked after by Yousef, Hind and Moisin amongst others and everyone was very welcoming. The Riad is beautiful and traditional right in the Medina. It is hard to find down a long narrow alley, one the only difficulty we had was that we had to walk some distance to get to where the taxis could come. This caused some difficulty for my wife in heels.

Grasping and perfidious

I made a mistake with booking this hotel on Booking.com and LoveHolidays.com. This resulted in my husband being charged when he arrived despite my already having paid with the other company. This was pointed out very early in our stay and could easily have been remedied by a decent manager. When this supposedly high end hotel was informed they had taken two amounts from us for the same stay and asked to help they gave us assurances they would resolve this over the 2 nights we had with them. And then when we returned to the UK have fobbed us off saying we need to contact the agent. Whilst the mistake was mine, I deeply resent the bare faced dishonesty and grasping attitude that means that the staff smile in our face, messing you around for weeks with nonsense emails all the while knowing full well they are in effect stealing from you. Despite whatever rubbish they have told me, my husband and I can see two separate payments on our bank statements. So, for anyone considering staying here, it looks beautiful and enjoys good reviews, but beware all the while it employs some perfidious and rapacious staff who are content to say one thing whilst doing quite another to take your money, there is a risk that you will experience the same underhanded practise. If you like straight forward and honest dealings you won’t find it here. This has tainted the entire experience of this French owned hotel.

Faded beauty

A great 3 to 4 star hotel if that’s what you are after. As a 5 star it falls short. Mini suite was spacious but nothing wow . Corridors dark. The pool area x2 were lovely. Based on the breakfast we chose not to eat at the restaurants.Boiled cauliflower , plain pasta is not my idea of yum for breakfast but each to their own.The housekeeping staff are so welcoming and friendly . The best . Location is good for the square. Could be great but needs some attention to be a true 5 star.
