This historic hotel is located in the shade of the ancient city walls, in the heart of the Medina, and within a 200 m walk from the beach. Guests will find restaurants, bars, shops, a park and links to the public transport system right on the hotel's doorstep, while the bus station is just 900 m away. The hotel is a former 19th century palace built in 1871 which has been carefully restored to conserve the charm and elegance of that period. Life in the hotel centres around the patio which features cosy Moroccan lounges and fountains where little birds bathe. On the terrace guests will discover a panoramic view of the lovely houses of the Medina, the souks, mosques and the big square. Guests are offered 55 rooms and a range of facilities, including Moroccan beauty and SPA treatments and an information desk where guests can lean about various recreational options offered in the area.

Overrated riad

Been in Essaouira for a week already and and tried to give a shot in changing my actual Riad which I'm very happy with, from the moment I arrived at this Riad I felt the unfriendliness of the staff but still was curious to check the rates and especially the rooms which were dark and very small. The receptionist wanted to charge me 350 dhs per night without breakfast for staying a week which was ridiculous for the quality of the Riad. The place needs some serious renovation and professionalism

A lovely place in the Medina

I spent 4 nights at this lovely Riad last November-2022-nd I was very impressed.This Riad is in the centre of the Medina,a short walk to the bus station.Check-in was handled speedily and the room I was given was large and clean with a street view.Sleep quality was excellent.Breakfast each morning was very good and the service was prompt and friendly.I want to mention the staff who really made my stay a memorable one-Abdullah,Hassan,Jonas,Samu,Ibrahim and Monica.I am happy to recommend this place and give it 10 out of 10.

Wonderful Dinner at Riad Al Medina

Walking through the Medina we came across this restaurant at Riad Al Madina in Essaouira Morocco. The interior is very nice and welcoming . We felt at home and was greeted by a very friendly server Hajiba who was very patient as we took out time reading our menus. We ordered a bottle of wine and water which Hajiba brought promptly and set up at a small table. The wine a local wine was very good . We ordered Bruschetta as a starter and I think it was the best Bruschetta I had ever had .. a eggplant base topped with tomatoes and pesto . Just wonderful . We then had Spaghetti Vongole and Lasagna … both dishes were superb . Beautiful ambience , great food and excellent service made our dinner remembered. Thank you Hajiba !
