When you’re seeking luxury without the hefty price tag, the Luna Holiday Complex is a must-visit! Not only are its interiors stylish, but the rooftop pool overlooking Mellieha Bay is one-of-a-kind. Put it this way, you’ll need to have your camera ready because the sunset viewings are unbeatable. Match that with swanky apartments and a prime position next to Malta’s longest stretch and you’re onto a winner.
When it comes to space, there’s plenty of it. Whether you opt for a large studio room with a cosy living area, double cooking rings for whipping up your own concoctions and connecting twin beds or a superior family option big enough to fit the whole clan. The facilities that come as standard are top-notch, including a flat screen TV, oven, hairdryer air-conditioning and kettle. And when you want to splash out, opt for the penthouse suite which flaunts a large spacious veranda complete with sunloungers, two deluxe bedrooms and an outdoor dining area.
There are some real culinary gems hiding inside this hotel too, and Dining Lunar is one of them. Here the chef is on hand to create the dish you desire, allowing you to choose a theme and main ingredients (with a few days notice, of course), perfect for special occasions. Or simply just take advantage of its ever-changing menu. But when you can’t decide what you fancy, Twilight Bar & Kitchen is your go-to with its endless buffet options accompanied by a bottle of chilled wine. Speaking of drinks, we’d recommend cocktails on the terrace when you want to soak up panoramic vistas. Not forgetting the spot in the lounge where you can enjoy a coffee and cake.
If that wasn’t impressive enough, the games room will lure you in with its video games and pool tables asking you to challenge the family. As for taking advantage of Malta’s year-round climate, the Sky pool is where you’ll relax on four-poster beds before heading for a dip in the hot tub. Not forgetting the Mediterranean backdrop you’ll be admiring during your sunbathing hours. If heights make you nervous, there’s a family option with a shallow end for tiny tots. There’s also an indoor swimming area open between October and May for warmer dips.
When it comes to your location, you’ve hit the jackpot. Within minutes you’ll reach Mellieha’s 800m of sun-soaked sand which hugs the sapphire waters of the Med. The allures don’t end there either owing to its collection of watersports including water-skiing and windsurfing. Walk 10 minutes further and you’ll stumble upon the resort’s beautiful baroque churches and chic cafes hidden away among narrow cobbled streets. But don’t worry, you don’t have to go that far to find your nearest cocktail spot, after all there’s a selection of shops, restaurants and bars only 100m from the hotel.

First holiday for me..
We booked to visit Malta for our honeymoon, it was my first ever time abroad so wasn’t sure what to expect.. we arrived at midday, our room wasn’t quite ready for us to check in to, so we left are bags in secure place and had a wander round to get our bearings. First thing I must do is mention the staff that work on the bar and eating areas! Every single one of them were perfect, polite and would go out of there way to assist if needed! First class service!! I didn’t catch their names but we personally thanked them before we left. The room size was good, very spacious and looked out over the bottom pool. Shower was good although it took time to drain away.. no problem thou.. house keeping spot on.. only comment I would make is maybe change bedding a bit more frequent especially hotter months ( it can get hot on a night and people that sweat mixed with sun cream or after sun isn’t nice) but again no big problem. Poolside was cleaned religiously every morning including sun loungers etc. there is a games room but we found out the pool table had balls missing and cues were tip less. But other than that we will definitely be coming back. To the manager, please give all your staff the praise the deserve. Excellent hotel.
Don't bother better hotels in area.
Booked through Jet2, their part was good. Hotel part not so good. 1. Room ok, cramped around the kitchenette. Had a good fridge but power goes off when you remove Room key from it's location. The gas hob is supplied by a cylinder on the balcony that got all day sun. I never noticed any flashback arrester, so never used it. Room was covered by a CO monitor that flashed occasionally. Small multi purpose hoven we used once and was OK. Shower needed replacing and was in a poor condition. 2. Bed was terrible. Very hard, woke up most days with stiff backs. To get round this we used the quilt as a mattress topper, but still stiff. 3. Roof pool was good, but be warned it does get crowded at weekends due to locals can purchase a day ticket. 4. Location good but you need to go into town for the best restaurants. Plenty of bus's to get around. 5. Main restaurant used once, OK 6. Staff OK but all hotel staff should be good natured. For me hotel was OK but barely 3 star
Balcony issue
Booked this holiday through Jet2. Just wanted a large studio with a balcony. Was visiting for a friends nieces wedding and wanted something not too expensive. We were really looking forward to sitting on the balcony at breakfast and in an evening. The photos below show what we looked out onto which includes litter and underwear. We asked for a room change but were told the hotel was fully booked all week and they could not do anything! The Jet2 Rep was useless. The rest of the hotel is okay, but if you book direct with the hotel ask for a room fourth floor or above. I would definitely not recommend booking with Jet2 who totally misrepresented this holiday.
