Amazing staff and great location
The staff at this hotel are amazing. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel is near the train station and the main street of Venice, so easy to walk all the way down to San Marco square or catch a ferry. Breakfast was very good and staff make great hot drinks on request. We did have an issue with the TV not working, staff tried to fix it but no luck. Probably more to do with the internet connection and the solid walls of an old building. A laundromat 5 mins walk away. Overall, we would stay again at this hotel.
Great hotel and staff
We visited the hotel for three nights, but we wish we stayed for longer! We stayed in a cosy room which was more than big enough for us and we couldn’t fault it- it was spotless. Breakfast was delicious, there was plenty of choice. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our trip. Would definitely visit Venice and this hotel again.
First class New Year break
This hotel is superb - first class in terms of location, reception, comfort and service. We were welcomed with a very professional check-in with lots of helpful information. There is a lift to all 4 floors (my husband has walking difficulties, so a lift was very welcome). Rooms are air conditioned, beautifully appointed and laid out (a boutique/elegant style) with a well appointed shower room (narrow, but hey? we are in central Venice!) The shower was powerful with shampoo and shower-gel provided (alongside soap and body lotion). We opted for a "no housekeeping" set up for our 7 night stay. I must say I find this convenient (less intrusive and a lot less wasteful) - we got fresh towels from the attendants and top ups; coffee cups, toilet roll, bin bags, etc as well as removal of any rubbish we had. We got a bar voucher for 2 complimentary drinks for choosing this option. There are fridges and kettle, etc in the rooms as well as a safe. The bar offers a stylish area (as well as access to the garden area) and this is also where breakfast is served. (There is a bistro menu should you want to dine-in, in evenings and at lunch time). The breakfast was, in the main, very good with an array of pastries, breads, small cooked selection as well as cheese, cold meats, yoghurts, fresh fruit, etc. Coffee and tea and fresh juices, as well as the option to order a cappuccino, latte, etc. With only one exception (when there was virtually nothing left at 10.10 (no bacon, coffee, breads or juice), it was very well stocked and there was plenty to choose. I was glad we stayed a full week, as I realise this was an exception rather than the normally well-stocked set-up. (Different staff that day = different style? Who can say). The provision of a phone is fantastic - helped us to select restaurants, etc. You are literally a minute walk from the hustle and bustle of the grand canal with an array of restaurants, shops and bars and an excellent SPAR supermarket. The water bus is literally on the doorstep alongside the train station just a 5 minute walk. Wonderful restaurants nearby and very central, with links to all the attractions. Visiting after Christmas to celebrate the New Year has been wonderful. We will certainly return.
