Wonderful stay in Venice
We had a really wonderful stay at Ai Cavalieri with our two daughters. We stayed in the Deluxe Double rooms which were beautiful and spacious with lovely views over the rooftops. The hotel is quite ‘old school’ in decor but that is what we were looking for during our stay in Venice! The staff was so helpful, recommending a number of restaurants which we really enjoyed and booking us a gondolier tour, a trip to Murano to visit a glass blowing workshop and helping with airport transfers etc. we loved the location since as others have said it was quiet but incredibly well-located - only 10-15 minutes by foot from any of the major attractions. We also enjoyed some great cocktails and snacks with impeccable service at the ‘Bat Bar’! The only small issue was weak wifi but that wasn’t really a problem for us. The hotel is not cheap but we felt we paid a fair price for the quality of our stay. We will definitely return to Ai Cavalieri if we come back to Venice!
4 Nights - Excellent Hotel and Service
Service at front desk and at breakfast is excellent. Location is very good, as the area gets quiet just as you get closer to the hotel, and within minutes you can be back in the chaos of it all if you choose. Views from our rooms were decent. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. We had a Deluxe Double for two nights and a Classic Double for two nights. Wi-Fi during our stay was really poor in both rooms. Not sure if this is something specific beyond their control or the norm, but nevertheless, unfortunate for us. We would stay here again for the comfort of the room, the service, and the location if the Wi-Fi issue was addressed, or if we were not reliant on Wi-Fi for travel research during our stay. Cellular service was also spotty for us here, but YMMV.
Could be better.
We stayed for 4 nights for our 30th anniversary. Nice hotel but should have been better for the price. We had a classic room which was ok but had really stained carpet which we didn't expect in a hotel that is supposedly luxury. Bathroom was lovely with a powerful rainfall shower. We were disappointed not to have been offered the Murano trip and no mention was ever made of our special occasion despite making them aware of this on booking. Had to keep asking for more coffee and creamer for the room as well as shower gel as these were not replenished. Overall got the impression that as we were only in a classic room guests in suites were receiving the service we had expected. Left feeling underwhelmed and largely ignored.
