Hotel Metropole

Surrounded by natural greenery, Metropole is a family-friendly hotel in Sorrento on the south west coast of Italy. The centre of Sorrento is a short walk from the hotel and has plenty of restaurants and bars to explore, as well as souvenir and gift shops. You could also wander down the winding path to the public beach, where you can swim in front of the tall cliffs or dine at a seaside restaurant. If you fancy a day trip, you can visit the city of Naples where you can experience the nightlife or enjoy a leisurely stroll through the bayside Villa Comunale park that dates back to the 18th century.

The nearest beach to Metropole is at La Tonnarella Hotel, 300m away. Sorrento is 1km from the hotel and is home to a range of attractions including the Correale Art Museum and the ancient ruins in Vallone dei Mulini, a city-centre park in a deep valley. You can also take a short walk to the Baths of the Queen Giovanna, a hidden, seaside pool surrounded by high cliffs. You could head on a day trip to Pompeii, where you can explore the ruins of the ancient city frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. You can also go on a boat to the island of Capri.

Metropole's a' la carte restaurant serves breakfast and dinner and has outdoor seating available. The lobby bar is open during the summer months (late May-Oct) and stays open 24 hours a day. It serves local and international beers, wines and cocktails, as well as snacks including salads, burgers and pizzas.

In Sorrento you can explore the Basilica of Sant'Antonino, the oldest church in the town, or wander the peaceful gardens of the cloistered Church of St Francesco.
