Outstanding hotel / better than Timeo!

We enjoyed a week at this elegant hotel ! It was 100 times better than Grand hotel Timeo! The night we checked in, there was a wine & food event going on . We were invited to join the event and it was spectacular ! Top chefs and top wineries displayed their best dishes ! I thought I died and went to heaven ! The breakfast every morning was incredible ! The staff was superb! Everyone @ the front desk was so helpful and made sure everything we planned thru them was to our satisfaction ! The location of the hotel was perfect , a 7 minute walk to Taormina . My room was breathtaking overlooking the sea ! Waking up and drinking my coffee on my balcony with my husband was amazing ! The gym and pool was much better than other hotels in Italy !

We have just had the most wonderful week at this hotel. Understated elegance at its best. The room and views from our balcony were wonderful,. Breakfast on the terrace was out of this world! The staff are a major asset to this hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. Truly professional and The house keeping deserve a special mention as it was excellent. There is a courtesy shuttle up to and down from Taormina town available to guests. Taormina at its best.

Lovely room with a great view

Lovely room with a great view. Enjoyed the breakfasts in lovely location on the terrace. We found the walk into the town up the steps to the left of the hotel no problem; you can also walk up the road to the bus station in less than 10 mins (for excursions). Town is lovely. Constructive comments: Introduction to room was a little cursory, e.g. were found out by chance that the soft drinks in the mini bar were complementary (including very nice smoothies). It would have been nice to have an egg station at breakfast We would have preferred no music at the pool bar (disturbing if want to read or listen to own music though headphones) The water in the pool was very cold despite the very warm weather - I presume it is not heated On our first night there was a very loud event at a nieghbouring hotel (music and DJ) but it was just the first night. We were most impressed with the room housekeeping. We were unimpressed with the beaches and the town by the sea which you can reach from the cable car just up from the bus station (cheap ride up and down for 3 euros though). It was a busy road, not much there that we could see, and crowded on the cobbled beaches towards Bella Isle. Highlights: Taormina town; walk through the gardens with view of sea and Etna; Andreas Restaurant opposite the gardens (not the one next to it); excursions to Etna, Stromboli and Syracuse; Castlemola is nice village at the top of the hill: cheap bus ride up and we walked back down the path to Taormina (around 40 mins).
