Close to Roma Termini-Great if You Like Leather

Jan 2022 | Alden C
I stayed at the UnaHotels DecoRoma over the American thanksgiving weekend in November 2021. I primarily stayed there because it’s proximity to Roma Termini. I stayed for one night because I wanted quick access to the airport since I had an early flight back to the states. The hotel itself is very close to Termini, maybe a five minute walk from the station. When I was walking from the station to the hotel it was raining and it was kind of hard to find the entrance. So that wasn’t great. And then check in took forever. The guy was super apologetic, he said that they had just transitioned to a new system, and there was a long of paperwork that needed to be filled out and he was very intently working with a separate iPad to check me in. When I finally got a room key, l went to my room. The hotel is very large and it seemed like it catered to a lot of business travelers. There was a large group of business people in the lobby and there looked like there was a significant amount of conference space. Everything was very modern and clean. I will say that when I checked in, I didn’t know you could utilize so much leather in a room’s decor, but there it was. Leather, everywhere. I didn’t mind it, it was kind of a cool look.k The guy at the counter said there wasn’t a gym, nor did the hotel give out umbrellas, so I had to go out into the deluge and find my own. That was annoying, especially since I just came from Florence where I stayed at a hotel with the most wonderful umbrellas. Oh well. I did checkout before the breakfast, which I paid for,, and they offered a take away breakfast. It looked like pre-packaged juice, pastry and yogurt. It was nice that they offered that.

Great hotel near Termini

If you are looking for a nice hotel close to Termini Train Station - look no further. Una Hotel is about 1 block away, but feels worlds away. We were in Room 103. Nice and quiet (we asked for quite room). I liked the fact that I could open the window for fresh air. The hotel is just blocks from Baths of Diocletian, National Museum and Piazza Republica and nice walking neighborhoods. The hotel has a modern , clean, contemporary feel. Room was spacious feeling (if not in fact really large). Nice design to the room and very comfortable. Very spacious bathroom. We had tub/shower. Good water pressure. One minor drawback was only one towel hook. Fine for one person, but where is the other person suppose to hang their towel? Needs more hooks and/or bars for towels. Everything in the room operated from keypad. Lights, A/C. One needs to be technically savvy to operate. Frankly I was challenged but my wife (my IT person!) was able to figure it all out. Breakfast very complete with nice assortment, but due to Covid, everything must be brought to you. An interesting set up. Everything was buffet style, but you could not even step up to is, let alone serve yourself. Nonetheless the service was gracious and you could have anything you wanted. I would not hesitate recommending this hotel and if I wanted to be near Termini in the future I would return.

Super convenient to Roma Termini and surprisingly upscale.

Stayed here twice both coming to and leaving Rome. First stay was in a 6th floor corner room with a large outdoor patio - marvelous. The second stay was on the same corner on the 4th floor. Larger room but no patio. 6th floor room was perfect and quiet, despite the location. The 4th floor not so much as the window did not seal fully and street noise leaked in as well as the rumble of the adjacent street car. Sealing the window would have made a big difference Picked the location as it was convenient to the Roma Termini station and the Leonardo Express to the airport. This also puts it at the hub of the subway system as an added plus, but most major city attractions are only a 20 or so minute walk from the hotel. Breakfast buffet was served (as is now typical) by a hotel employee on demand. Good selection and quality of offerings although I thought a 5 euro surcharge for a grapefruit juice was a bit much. Would definitely stay again, but would check the soundproofing before accepting the room.
