Savoy Rome is a 4 star hotel in the heart of Rome. It’s just a stone’s throw from the lavish Villa Borghese and the historical gate of Porta Pinciana. You don’t even need to leave the hotel to see these attractions, thanks to the rooftop terrace. This is the ideal place to admire the sunset while drinking a Sambuca. Alternatively, sit in the garden terrace at the Granet Restaurant and choose your selection from the fine menu comprising a range of delicious dishes.
The air-conditioned classic rooms feature WiFi, a kettle, flat-screen TV, minibar with complimentary water, a safe, hairdryer and slippers. If you book the superior option you will additionally have a small living area, as well as benefiting from a king size bed and a large 46” TV. Babies are welcome to accompany their parents and the hotel offers a babysitting service for a surcharge.
The concierge staff are there to assist you with booking activities and excursions. Maybe you’d like to go on a food and wine walking tour or join a pasta making class? If you arrive early or depart late, place your suitcase in the luggage room and use the time to explore more of the eternal city. The hotel also offers a printing service, making it quick and easy to print out tickets and boarding passes.
Savoy Rome is within 15 minutes walk of both the famous Trevi fountain and the Spanish Steps. The nearest Metro station is Barberini, allowing quick and easy access to St Peter’s Square and the Vatican Museums. Other sites, such as the Colosseum and Roman Forum, can also be reached using the Metro. If you wish to escape to somewhere more peaceful the Roma-Lido railway will take you out to Lazio’s beaches. It also stops at Ostia Antica, a large archaeological site, which has similarities to Pompeii but is much less crowded.

Nice Hotel with a couple of exceptions
Hotel was fine - good location, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast buffet, hotel staff polite and friendly. Reception staff distant and not very friendly - seemed unhappy in their jobs - other staff were fine, communicative and polite. Bottle of wine left in room but no bottle opener. Went to reception to get one was told go to the rooftop bar (floor 6) and ask them to open it for you! Telephone in room not working - told to press 9 - not much use if the phone id broken! TV lost most of the channels on day two - reception said it is the same all over Italy as it was switching from analogue to digital - seemed rather far fetched but then said they would get it checked out - this was the last we heard of it! Despite the above, I gave it 4 stars as it was still a good place to stay and we were determined that two reception staff were not going to spoil it for us as the others were great.
Fine Hotel in Rome
Savoy was ideally located for my first visit to Rome. Nice location, quiet, yet easily walkable to attractions. Nice restaurants close by, safe area. Well maintained property, comfortable and elegant furnishings, well-appointed bath. On site dining room and bar were an added bonus.
Lovely break for husbands 30th
I booked Rome as a surpise for my husbands 30th Birthday, we had a lovely time. we found the reception staff very friendly, they booked our excursions for us. The one lady on reception was very helpful she even printed our tickets off for us for a footall game and reccomended a restaurant and made us reservations (which turned out to be the best meal of our stay) We found the location was fine, walking distance to trains and restaurants. The rooms were cleaned everyday and clean towels provided. One negative point about the bathroom is that the toilet and bathtub are right next to each other so it can make it a bit awkward to get into the shower. My main negative point for me was the breakfast, maybe its just not what im used to but everything was served to you. No self service at all, not even hot drinks. You have to go up to the buffet section and ask for what you want. I just found this odd, im not sure if its because of dreaded COVID but I didnt like asking people at the buffet for food. I can imagine when its busy this service wouldnt work well. The roof top terrace is lovely, we only had drinks no food but it was reasonably priced, for Rome any... I dont think some peoples reviews are fair, complaining about "no english TV chanels" if you want to stay in your room while in Rome I think your doing something wrong... Overall, we had a lovely stay and would stay again.
