Fantastico!
Quite a find, just outside central Rome in a charming suburb. Very well appointed rooms, nicely furnished with real wood fitted wardrobes and decor to match. The curtains, marbling in the bathrooms and on the staircase was a work of art and beds so comfortable . In fact every detail belies the three star rating. The rooftop breakfast dining room with views over the park to the mountains beyond in one direction and the rooftops of Roma in the other. Put me in mind of Mary Poppins the movie. The enchantment of this charming hostelry is a dream for guests looking for a unique hotel at a budget price. The gardens and entrance together with secure boundaries makes it the hotel of choice for many visitors. I don t like to single anyone out because the staff work as a team, but lovely Manuela made us a wonderful pot of tea on our last night. It was hard to find a good cuppa in Italy as they are a nation of coffee drinkers so she really saved the day. Truly the standard of English spoken by the staff was outstanding. I was able to converse with staff so fluent in my mother tongue it made me feel quite at home. It’s a bed and breakfast but with a 24 hour reception and housekeeping staff who make the domestic chores into an art form. I ve seen operating theatres less clean. I felt I was being entertained at the Ritz. When I ve been to Italy in the winter before I ve found the heating inadequate but not a bit of it here. The rooms are maintained at a constant temperature which you can adjust. It’s not all perfect, the lift was being maintained but they put us oldies on the first floor and offered to serve breakfast in our rooms. There was an inconsiderate man next door with insomnia. There were constant interruptions to our sleep but that’s hardly the hotels fault. He knew about it when I got up for an early flight . It’s a 10minute walk from the metro but there are lots of shops , bars and restaurants locally including a supermarket and a fantastic vegan restaurant with the most delightful gentleman front of house . I couldn’t ask for more and if we come back to the eternal city of Rome we won t hesitate to book the Romoli hotel.
Lovely hotel
Nice hotel, was nice and clean. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was good, few different choices. Was easy to get to places like the coliseum from the hotel on a bus. The staff also gave us a map which was great would recommend.
Broken glass
The hotel is nice enough and comfortable. However there was broken glass on the floor of our room. I spoke to reception and was told that nobody could clean it until the next day, they couldn't move my room and I couldn't borrow a brush or vacuum to clean it myself. Pretty poor and quite dangerous.
