Artemide inhabits a stunning 19th century building, on the bustling Via Nazionale, one of the longest streets in central Rome. It couldn’t be more conveniently located for exploring the eternal city. After a long day of sightseeing, you might choose to visit the onsite spa (open from 11am to 8pm), boasting a Turkish bath, Finnish sauna and sensation showers.
The Ambrosia Rooftop Restaurant & Bar allows you to devour the finest cuisine, while taking in breathtaking views. You might choose a smoked salmon flan or beef tartare for starter, followed by buffalo ricotta ravioli or steamed lobster. Finish off by ordering a cheese board or chocolate cake with rum cream. The wine list has been carefully prepared so they are perfectly paired with the dishes on the menu.
Nice food isn’t reserved for dinner time, as you can start the day with a selection from the breakfast buffet. It’s not limited to just meats, cheeses, eggs and cereals. There’s hot bruschetta, tiramisu and freshly baked cannoli too.
The rooms at Artemide are carpeted and feature sound-proofing, complimentary WiFi, air conditioning, heating, a safe and satellite TV channels. The best bit is there’s a free minibar that's restocked daily. Deluxes additionally have comfy leather armchairs and are able to accommodate a cot. You’ll also benefit from a large 46” TV and tea & coffee making facilities.
Artemide is just 1km from Trevi Fountain, so why not go for an evening stroll to see it illuminated. You’ll also be just 1km from the hidden gem of Colonna Palace, which boasts a frescoed hall and large art collection. Repubblica Metro stop is 200m away, allowing quick and easy access to the Spanish Steps, St Peter’s Square and the Vatican Museums. Other world famous sites, such as the Colosseum and Roman Forum, can be reached by changing trains.
If you book a longer stay, you might wish to consider visiting the well-preserved archaeological site of Ostia Antica. Alternatively, maybe you’ll opt for the clifftop city of Orvieto, which is connected to Rome via the historic Via Francigena pilgrimage route. These days you don’t have to hike, as you can now get there by train.
