The Hotel with its familiar and welcoming atmosphere, away from traffic noise and city chaos, is perfect both for tourists who want to visit the eternal city, and for those travelling on business. There are regular public transport links into Rome's historic centre. Stadio Olimpico is less than 3 km away, Rome city centre were Trevi Fountain, Colosseo and Piazza di Spagna are within 6 km. The elegant lounge of the hotel has wooden decor are the perfect place for relaxing with a drink or two. The hotel staff is always available to make its guests' stay exclusive, pleasant and relaxing. In the large and spacious hall, furnished in perfect colonial style, is the bar corner where guests can have a drink, have a drink while listening to music or watching TV. The rooms are classic, have pastel coloured walls and a private bathroom. In response to Coronavirus (COVID-19), additional safety and sanitation measures are in effect at this property.

We checked into this hotel at 2pm. The receptionist was very rude. We asked for the bus time table and bus routes her answer was Google it yourself. We went to the room and was so outdated it’s unreal. It must have been the smallest room in the hotel. The window didn’t feel safe when we opened it felt like it would fall out at any second. We then went to rome centre for the day which was very nice. We returned to the hotel at 9pm and asked for more pillows the guy on reception said you will have to wait until the morning to get more pillows as he didn’t have the key for the store room. The breakfast if that’s what you call it was shocking. No fresh food out everything was stale. Terrible service. Don’t ever stay her and avoid at all cost. Oh and by the way they ask for more money for tourist tax at 4 euro a night per person. Absolute joke. If you don’t pay the so called tourist tax or city tax they threatened to cancel our booking. Very very ignorant people. Good luck staying here

HORRIBLE I booked two rooms for one night at the Colony Hotel on the hotel's website. When we arrived at 6pm, the receptionist, a young man of 30, asked us for 16 euros for the tourist tax without giving us a ticket. We discovered our room with a very dilapidated bathroom, broken and missing shower wall. The water is lukewarm, the shower is clogged and the water runs on the floor. To this day, we still don't have a bill and the people on the phone are very unpleasant. do not answer the email and it is impossible to have an invoice on the site.

Our stay at the colony hotel. When we first arrived we entered the reception we were greeted by the lady on reception, didn’t get a welcoming vibe. She told us we had to wait 10 minutes until check in so we put our bags in storage which wasn’t locked and headed out. When we got back we were stood in reception waiting to be acknowledged as the lady was just stood in the reception on her phone. When she finally checked us in we got our key and went to our room. Firstly the lifts were very touch and go, didn’t know if they were going to work or not. Then we got to our room, very basic, had a television but just 1 channel worked on there, no main light in the bedroom just side lights which were hanging off the wall. The shower was just cold water on the first day but when I spoke to reception about it she said that she will get someone to look at it but I don’t think they did. We figured out you had to turn the handle all the way left and wait for it to get a little luck warm and the pressure of the water was like a little spit on water just coming out. Also above the shower is just black mould all over the celling. The toilet flush didn’t work and the panel kept falling off the wall, we had to keep taking the panel off to control the toilet and then it kept spitting water out through the night and making noises. While being in the room we noticed there was no iron so I went to reception and asked if they had one for us to use and the lady just stared at me and said ‘we do not do them services here’. So we had to try and hang most of our clothes up on the 5 coat hangers we had between us. We noticed on our second night we were coming out in a few bites over our arms and back.. we don’t know if this was from the bed or not.. was room 108. The third night we decided to stay in and order food from just eat, I asked reception if it was ok to order food in and they said it was fine so I asked would it be possible to have 2 plates and cutlery to eat the food with. He said it was fine and asked my room number and he would bring it up. When reception brought the food up I asked where the plate and cutely was, he told me to go to the restaurant downstairs to get it myself. As i got to the restaurant there was nobody in there then a women approached me and I asked if it was possible to borrow the utensils and she basically said no because there for the restaurant. I explain reception told us we could that’s why we ordered the food, she was arguing with me over Google translate for 5 minutes explains why I can’t because she needs them for the restaurant (which nobody was in). In the end I got what I needed. Throughout the days of staying here I have noticed you can hear everything that goes on down the corridors and outside, the windows are very thin and you can hear the road and people outside and also the housekeepers cleaning at 8:30am slamming toilet seats. Overall I would not stay at this hotel again or recommend it to anyone else, the city centre is an hour and a half away walking and not the safest with the roads. Taxis are €16 each way. The busses are sometimes late and very confusing to understand.
