Rooftop Bar
We visited the rooftop bar of the hotel one evening for some drinks, we were not staying here. We booked on the website which was easy. Service was a little slow but the view was well worth it and the drinks were good. Recommend for a rooftop bar
Definitely do not recommend.
My fiancé, a handful of cockroaches and I stayed at Hotel Baglioni for 2 nights. We paid extra for a “garden” room that involved going up, down, and around several staircases and long dark hallways before going into a courtyard that was filled with construction work and scaffolding. To get to our room we had to duck under scaffolding. Our room had no windows and the only natural light that came in was when we opened the door to the courtyard. When we turned on the lights we found a giant cockroach scurrying across the floor. I mentioned it to the bellman and he just looked at me and said it happens. ???? The room itself was fine. It was clean, no complaints there. As always in Italy, the AC is dismal, but not having windows eliminated any chance for a cross breeze and left us baking in stale air regardless of the time of day. Every time we came back to our hotel room or turned on the lights in the morning there was either a cockroach on the floor, the ceiling, or the bed. I’m sure this is because we were in the “garden” but we basically paid extra to have more roommates than we bargained for. When telling the front desk of this they offered a “so sorry” and gave me the bill. We tried the rooftop one day for an afternoon snack and waited 40 minutes (not an exaggeration) with servers telling us “just a minute!” We finally understood we were never going to get assistance and went elsewhere. Pros: close to the train station and it’s walkable (all hotels in Florence are walkable) and the rooms were physically clean besides their pest problem Cons: literally everything else.
Family vacation
Great hotel, amazing service from check in to check out. Room was spacious and well kept (clean and sanitary). The location is great as it is at the center of Florence and close to pretty much everything. The bar at the top floor has some of the best views in all of Florence. Will definitely come back.
