Rooms
Small tiny Hot box
The window didn’t close so there was a draft in the room, the room was a shoebox, no kettle or anything like that just a bed in a cupboard, in fact I’ve seen larger cupboards… The rooms are so small they put some communal areas on each floor for reprobates to sit and drink at in the evening, they sounded like they were summoning satan or whatever else teenagers get up to these days, so I didn’t want to interrupt them The walls are paper thin so you won’t get any sleep, our shower didn’t drain so you could only have a shower for 30seconds before waiting 20minutes for the tray to drain. Location feels like it’s on an Industrial estate and is far from anything worth visiting If your lucky your window might look outside, unlucky you will have a window looking into a corridor, our window overlooked the bins and a delapidated building The hotel is also 6 million degrees centigrade so you’ll find yourself sat in your pants eating breakfast. On that note breakfast is sparse, toast and jam, questionable ham with some boiled eggs and sliced plastic cheese. You can also have the choice of lumpy porridge, plain cornflakes or granola…. Oh the joys!
Its warm
The hotel was warm, with brilliant water pressurre, however these were the only positives for the Hotel. It is approx 30mins to town, which isnt bad, however in the frezzing cold/ winter months this is quite a walk. You do have a really good food hall and supermarket approx 5mins away. The breakfast was contiental, with the only warm food being offered was porridge (if they managed to get it out) to which it was made with water and not milk. The toast machine, didnt toast the bread (even if you put it through three times). The room was clean, however they will not clean your room unless you request it, the window had a really bad draft. The bed was two singles pushed together, with two single covers being provided. I would recommend although this hotel is warm, i woud advice to spend that little bit more and go closer to town.
Great Location
My daughter and I stayed here during our Iceland tour in Nov 2022. The room was compact with just enough space for 2 adults. The room was serviced everyday which was so nice to come back to after a long tiring day. We had room facing the sea. I was surprised how warm the room was when the weather outside was below zero. The breakfast was very simple and adequate to start the day, however, when we stayed. there were a few school groups were staying, which made the breakfast a bit rushed and busy. The staff were very helpful. There were few places to eat, cash point and a supermarket around the hotel and it was only a 25/30 minutes walk to the town center. If you want somewhere to rest at night and easy access to the town center, then I would definitely suggest this hotel.
