Just like all the Greek islands, the currency in Santorini is the Euro. You’ll find places to exchange money in the resort, but we recommend organising some spending money before you leave, so you can start relaxing as soon as you step off the plane.
Smaller and independent businesses will be cash only, and it’s always useful to have a range of Santorini currency for paying for smaller items or tipping. You’ll find your regular debit or credit card is accepted in many places, but we recommend asking your bank how much they charge for transactions abroad. These fees can be quite high and add a lot onto the cost of your holiday.
