Savoy Sharm El Sheikh is surrounded by tropical foliage, in grounds 200,000m2 in size. It boasts a sandy beachfront and waterfalls, against a backdrop of desert mountains. There’s five swimming pools (two just for the children) and five bars, including poolside and beach options. For those who like to relax the Arabian Spa is equipped with a sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi®. There’s also a gym for fitness fanatics.
If you have a competitive nature join a game of beach volleyball or challenge someone to a game of tennis or squash. Water sports enthusiasts can partake in parasailing, banana boating and water tubing. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn how to dive or snorkel, before being let loose in Sharks Bay with its fine selection of aquatic life. Children aged 4-12 can join the kids’ club, where they’ll have fun in the playground and games room equipped with numerous toys and Playstations®.
The main Savoy restaurant boasts an extensive, international buffet. Themed nights include Italian, Mexican, oriental, seafood and Chinese. In the evening you may also choose to visit Rosmarino for Italian cuisine. For an out-of-this-world experience, reserve a table at Caligula Hot Rock. Here you will heat your own beef rib, lamb loin or fish steak over a heated piece of volcanic rock. Meanwhile, at Mediterranean everything is done for you, as fresh seafood is heated over an open charcoal grill. Last but by no means least, Morgana provides the perfect spot for a romantic lunch or dinner.
In the daytime relax with a drink on the beach or by the pool. In the evening visit Le Balcony for a night of entertainment. For a quieter affair there’s Safari, where you can chill with a cocktail while listening to the pianist and admiring the tropical plants. Further nighttime options are available at the neighbouring Soho Square (also managed by the Savoy Group). Here, you’ll find restaurants, cafes, bars, as well as a funfair and bowling alley.
Each of the 400 air conditioned rooms has a large private terrace or balcony, with comfortable seating. Interconnecting and non-smoking rooms are available on request.
The hotel is just 16km from Sharm El Sheik Old Market. Here, you can see the traditional side of Egypt and try your hand at haggling for spices, jewellery, pottery and souvenirs. If you plan on going quad biking in the desert, you might wish to purchase a headscarf here. Before leaving make sure you take a look at the exquisite Al Sahaba mosque, just next door.
