February Escape
We have just returned from a 7 night all inclusive break at this fabulous resort. The hotel is immaculate and the rooms are serviced everyday (we would look forward to returning to our room to see what our towels had been turned into (everything from petals and hearts to mummies and elephants!) Just couldn’t fault it. The rooms are also very spacious and have a hairdryer in the bathroom so you don’t need to pack one! The food is excellent and a really good variety of choice (especially the breakfast pastries). There are A la Cart restaurants to choose from if you want something different for a small charge (5 euros extra per guest). The gardens are beautiful and the beach like everywhere else is private and clean. We especially liked the beach restaurant. The bars serve alcohol until 11pm and there is plenty of choice. I must give Eslam a special mention, he makes a great Mai Tai and nothing is too much trouble. A great character and was mostly on the swim up bar during our stay. He would always be happy to talk and a true asset to the Bar team! We had massage treatments in the Spa and can honestly say they were the best massages we have ever had, thanks again to Hassan and Maiya. We really could not fault the resort and it was exactly what we hoped for and more. Aladdin and his staff at this beautiful resort is truly fabulous (it was also lovely to have a resort general manager genuinely interested in opinions of the guests and was very engaging in conversation with the guests throughout their stay). If I had to criticise anything the WiFi could be quite slow but apart from this do not hesitate to book this lovely resort for a quiet break. If you are looking for something more family orientated and lively then book Serenity Fun City which is the sister hotel opposite. (You are able to use the water park for 15 euros). All currencies are accepted.
Excellent Hotel
This was our first time staying at this Hotel, we have stayed at a few in the makardi Bay area and this hotel is in our top 3 , the hotel is very clean the grounds are imaculate ,staff very friendly nothing is too much trouble , rooms excellent very comfortable, Mohammad at the snack bar was brilliant ! , no complaints with the food all very good , Eslam at the pool bar was amazing ,so attentive and gave fab customer service , cannot fault him ,brilliant ! kept our drinks topped up without having to ask ,the guys that come round the pool area selling trips etc don't hard sell ,if you say not interested they thank you and politely move on ( that was a first for us ,doesn't normally happen in most hotels ) most customers are German with quite a few English , cannot recommend this hotel enough ,we shall definitely be re booking for next year ,
Loved it.
We were really pleased with our stay here. At first we were taken aback by the size of the place. It’s an enormous complex but it’s very quiet at this time of year. The guests are mainly English or German couples or small groups. Our two twenty somethings lowered the average age considerably. Our rooms were huge and kept spotless by Ibrahim ( who also organised a birthday cake for me when he saw the cards in the room) All the pools are clean and well maintained and the gardens are beautiful. We particularly enjoyed the saltwater pool. ( there are two of these but one was undergoing maintenance ) Having a drink at the swim up bar was a delight. I could live without the stream of sales people interrupting my reading but they were all pleasant and not overly persistent. We tended to lunch at the beach cafe where Mohammed treated us like royalty ( as he also did when we went to the Royal Lounge for an excellent dinner. When does that man sleep?). We upgraded to a la carte dinner a few times just as a change from buffet food and both the Royal Lounge and the Asian restaurant were excellent. We were less impressed with the Italian Al Dente but it was still OK. We visited the dive centre to look at their trips and, as we had done a bit of diving before, ended up signing up for the PADI open water course. Our dive master, Hassan was an absolute star. He was so knowledgeable, professional and reassuring that even our water hating daughter did a beginners dive with him. Sadly, after we had agreed a price and paid, there was a bit of an issue with the manager over an extra charge for the PADI log books which spoiled the experience a bit. Swimming at the beach is not really an option as the water is only knee deep and then there is a huge drop off. To swim or snorkel beyond the drop off you have to sign a risk form and the lifeguards will close access if they think it is too choppy or if they spot any danger. We saw a huge manta ray one day. It is, however, very pleasant to paddle and sit in the warm clear water and there are plenty of fish to see if you snorkel round the pier. I must also give a shout out to the Cuban entertainment crew. We did some yoga and some salsa and bachata dancing with them. Pavel, Yadian and the rest of the crew were so exuberant and lovely and they made a point of saying hi and stopping for a chat in the evenings. Overall the staff make this place. They all seem happy in their work and can’t do enough for the guests. Little tips for good service are well deserved and appreciated. I’m already considering booking again for this time next year. I might even do two weeks
