Bali Nightlife
Bali is an island of contrasts. The stunning sandy beaches of the island's coast give way to a jungle interior with lots of waterfalls. When dining out, you can easily move from rustic food shacks to fine dining restaurants, which certainly makes life on Bali interesting. The same is also true of the nightlife in Bali. Great tunes and a dance-till-dawn vibe is the main event in the resorts on the island's southern peninsular, such as Kuta, Seminyak and Legian. Head away from the crowds and you'll find calm in civilised rooftop bars with views of the bay, where you can savour a fine wine or a cocktail and seek out good company. Getting around in Bali at night is easy too. You'll find cabs are low-cost and plentiful, and most cab drivers know the best nightspots like the back of their hand. You'll soon find that venturing out at night is part of your holiday adventure and with some rupiah ready to go, there's no stopping you.
Clubbing till dawn
Bali nightlife in the resorts is one of the major draws of the island for the 20-30 crowd. You'll find most of the island's hotspots in the Kuta/Seminyak/Legian area, on the island's west coast, near the capital Denpasar. If you're looking for a party in resorts that never sleep, there are some incredible clubs to be found here. The Sky Dome Super Club in Legian is actually just one clubbing space among 61 within the immense Legian Sky Garden Entertainment Complex, and the place most party people head to when seeking out Bali nightlife. You'll find it on Legian's main street and although it's packed with club action, the Super Club is where it's at for pumping sounds, laser light shows and the best resident and visiting DJs. By contrast, the Mirror Bali Lounge & Club in Seminyak is smaller and a great place to visit for its own sake. Do take in your extraordinary surroundings, as it's designed to look and feel like a gothic cathedral, complete with stained glass windows and vast vaulted ceilings. The glittery walls and chandeliers do give away its clubbing heart, though. Looking for a quirky venue where industrial, deep bass, house and hip-hop are favoured? This is the place for you.Rooftop bars
You might know Jimbaran on the east coast of the island for its seafood restaurants. But chill-out bars with fabulous views, set high above beautiful stretches of coast, are found in this region too. Can you think of anything better than a delicious meal of fresh-caught fish, followed by drinks on the roof with that special someone? Or try Rock Bar Bali, a real visitor favourite and it's easy to see why. This bar is set right on the rocks beneath limestone cliffs, where the whole of the Indian Ocean is your backdrop. Sit back and sip a cold cocktail on a hot day, with tasty snacks and nibbles provided. And if you want clubbing tunes without the clamour of a dance venue, the Rock Bar delivers, with resident DJs keeping the beats going strong till 1am. Or head next door to the Unique Rooftop Bar at Rimba, for fine dining on a rooftop terrace that also boasts a 25m infinity pool. Great by day, it really comes alive at night, with 360 degree panoramas over green, forested hills.
