Sol Milanos Pinguinos is a family-friendly hotel on the southern coast of the Balearic island of Menorca. The hotel has views across the Mediterranean, and the long, sandy beach of Son Bou is a short stroll away. The hotel has an outdoor pool area with two main pools, plus a shallower pool for children. The pools are joined together by a bridge, and there are plenty of places to relax in the shade on the surrounding sun terrace. The hotel has a buffet restaurant that offers Italian cuisine, as well as a bar that serves soft drinks and alcohol. During high season, you can order snacks from the bar if you get hungry between meals. The hotel has a range of entertainment options for adults and children. In high season (May-Sep), you can play tennis, football and darts or take part in an aerobics or aquaerobics class. Sol Milanos Pinguinos arranges water sports including jet-skiing and pedalo riding (Jun-Aug). There's also a games room, which has a pinball machine and video games, as well as a playground at the hotel. Younger guests can also have fun at the kids' clubs, which run activities throughout the day and evening.

Sol Milanos Pinguinos is 100m from Son Bou Beach, which at 2.5 kilometres long is Menorca's longest white-sand beach. You can find a quiet spot here to while the day away, or you can head into the centre of Son Bou, the resort that lies 100m north of the hotel. The first place you'll come across is the local shopping centre, which sits directly behind Sol Milanos Pinguinos and has a range of shops, bars and restaurants as well as a pharmacy and supermarket for essential supplies. At the eastern end of Son Bou Beach is its basilica, the ruins of a 5th-century Christian church.

The hotel's main buffet restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It serves Italian cuisine, including pizza, lasagne and pasta. In high season, a second buffet restaurant is also open for breakfast and dinner, while the snack bar is open till late evening for light meals.

The hotel puts on nightly live entertainment, including Disney-style shows for kids. The three kids' clubs cater for children aged 8 months to 12 years.

Hotel rooms come with Wi-Fi, a satellite TV and a ceiling fan for keeping cool. Air conditioning is also available during the warmer months.

Worst holiday experience of our lives

This has to rate as the worst "hotel" experience we have ever had. Cold food, under cooked food, food so overcooked it was impossible to eat. No coffee making facilities in our room, we have stayed in cheaper hotel s and had this facility. The staff were mostly rude, disinterested. When we complained to our holiday rep, when she eventually turned up two days after we got there, Oh it's because they have been working since Easter. Well so have I!!! It's not my job to cheer your staff up. The.hotel has no soul, it has no personality, a real disappointment. We were placed in to the Sol Penguinos, part No staff to help or advise. The building was an overspill from the main building. Devoid of any thing. Clearing staff were brilliant tho, and were always cheerful, sham the same couldn't be said about the rest of the hotel staff. We are not people to complain usually, and have travelled widely in Spain, including the Basque region. We have always been treated politely and kindly. We will however, never ever return to Menorca. And certainly will never recommend this poor hotel. In fact I couldn't get away from the place fast enough.

Fantastic beach, great walking paths, brilliant staff, nice food, good hotel.

The 2 mile long fine sandy beach is unbeatable. Walking paths with stunning views at the eastern end and a longer coastal walk on the western end of the beach are great for excercise. Few staff speak English but that's not a problem, everyone was friendly and go out of their way to help. Minorca is not as tourist orientated as Majorca, it has its own culture and identity which adds to the travel experience. Food is great, especially the fresh fish and freshly sauteed meats. Plenty of local fruits and fresh vegetables. We shall return, thank you all at Sol Milanos Pinguinos for a lovely experience.

Fantastic Hotel

Arrived at about 7PM local time,staff very helpful,gave me my card key to my room. Room very nice,view of the pool and sea, i note some people complained room wasn't clean. Mine was spotlessly clean. Pulled back the curtains in the morning,the view was absolutely stunning. I was H/B for 5 nights. The food was excellent,especially the steak As i mentioned all the staff were very friendly, the location of the hotel is excellent,you just walk through a gate from the pool to the beach ( use your room card key to get back in) the pool is a huge lagoon type pool,with an extra smaller one. It's been a tough year this year,so, this holiday really lifted my spirits. I'll definitely be coming back next year. 2024 will be my 60th Birthday,i want to come back for that,too,and bring my family. Thank you Milanos Pinguinos Hotel. See you next year Gracias por todo
