Excellent holiday
We stayed for two weeks in July/August. Beautiful hotel. Lovely modern clean room. Pools never felt overcrowded. We spent most days by the children’s pool with the slides. Both our children loved it. Food and drinks excellent.
Brilliant family holiday
In September we had a 10 night stay at Zafiro Menorca and really enjoyed our time there. Our 1 year loved the water slides in the children's pool and the big bouncy inflatable dome in the main pool, as well as the play area. There are other quieter pools too. All staff worked hard and were very friendly. There were daily aqua classes in the main pool at midday, water sports such as water polo or badminton at 4pm, kids mini disco at 5pm in the kids pool and evening entertainment at 9pm at the main bar area. The food was good and varied. There were some dishes that were there each day such as pizza and pasta but the other food in the main buffet restaurant would change daily. I have Coeliac so require gluten free and they would cook gluten free pasta or pizza on request at both the restaurant and pool bar. The head waitress Aida was very helpful and would go round with me if I needed and would advice what I could eat and each morning would being me a plate of gluten free toast, muffins and cookies. Food at the pool bar was nice too. Decent selection of drinks including cocktails and gluten free beer. We were pleased with our room that faced away from the pool side so it was quiet. The kitchen was small but we were all inclusive so that didn't matter to us. The harbour is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel with lots of lovely restaurants and bars and a few shops. The beach is just the other side if the harbour which has white sand and clear water. It does get busy though with being quite a small beach but there was free space for our towels and parasol. There is a supermarket across the road from the hotel. Zafiro is great hotel for families and we would go back on the future.
Fantastic for families
The hotel is absolutely fantastic, rooms are spacious and airy, a powerfull rainfall shower, there was a kettle in the kitchenette - bounus. The staff are friendly and helpful, they all work so hard and always with a smile. All the areas are clean. The food is great, something for everyone, there's a small separate area for children serving chicken nuggets and so on. We stayed all-inclusive and was able to order food from the pool bar, there is an app for the hotel which I would recommend as it list's the food menu for the pool bar and the drinks menu - these are not on display, you have to scan a QR code or download the app. There is a bus stop around the corner that takes you down to Cuitadella, it cost €2.05 each , so €4.10 return pp. I would definitely recommend, there was a market on a Monday in the main square where the bussess drop you off. There is a supermarket across the road which was reasonably priced. It's about a 10 min walk to the centre/marina area. Everything was mostly closed when we were there for October half term, most shops and bars closed 16th October - best option is stay all inclusive for this period. There's lots of daytime entertainment for families and kids, the evening entertainment was poor, but watchable. There are 6 swimming pools, 4 smaller ones, a larger main pool and an indoor heated one, you get free pool towels. I would definitely take insect repellant - they have little black flies that bite - similar to horse flies. Overall, I would say that the hotel is fantastic, couldn't ask for more, we had a really relaxing holiday.
