We have just spent 10 nights here and had a lovely holiday. We were allocated an apartment which was spacious and clean and ideal for a family of 4. We looked out onto the smaller pool and genarally always got a sun bed. We only went to the main pool once but easily got sunbeds around 10am. My only criticism would be that smaller pool should open at 11am and the life guard was often late and also packed up before closing time at 19.00pm making you feel rushed. Having said that it was relaxing and quieter and great location in relation to our apartment. All of the bars and restaurants were lovely and reasonably priced. Happy hour was good too! The food was lovely and we only ate out once at cala mitjana which is to the left of the main entrance, this was well worth a visit and if your coeliac as is my husband they are very accommodating. We enjoyed hiring the pedalos on the beach, the sunbeds are 20 euros for two beds and a parosol, we generally got under the trees which gave you more shade. The cruise to mahon arranged by jet 2 was lovely visiting punta prima and Binibeca too, well worth the money. Overall we had a fabulous holiday and would certainly look at visiting again in the future.

Great hotel but injustice about sun beds being vacated so people who need them have got nowhere to sit

Excellent except it is very frustrating when people hog the sun beds all day. Towels put out by the pool and as a grandmother I find it frustrating when we need to look after grandchildren in the shallow end of the swimming pool and all chairs are taken so we have to stand by the swimming pool to watch over the younger grandchildren. They have done their best to keep the swimming pool closed until 9am but please tell me why people are allowed to put a towel on the sun beds in the morning and don’t return until the afternoon and other guests have watched and tell me some do not return to their sun beds until 4pm. I’m sure something can be done about this

Long awaited holiday abroad after Covid Pandemic.

What a wonderful week we have had as a family at this hotel. It was along awaited break abroad and we were totally impressed with the service at the hotel. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. The hotel room was much better than we expected,bigger than they looked in photos and very clean, although if you like a balcony book a room at the back of the hotel. The food in restaurant was very good, buffet style and had lots of choice, something for everyone. The pool bar also served excellent food and at resonable prices. We stayed half board and have to say that the prices even for drinks were very resonable. After reading reviews i was a little concerned about the prices but i didnt need to worry. The pool was lovely and large and had space for all guests, and had a lifeguard everyday. They had entertainment on daily and nightly, we didnt join in any games in the day but we did watch some of the evening entertainment and it was of good quality. Out of seven nights there were only two that we thought were really bad. Cala Galdana itself is a lovely place if you want a quiet family holiday in a safe area. Direct 3 minute walk to beach.The beach is one of my favourites in Menorca. The sea is clear and clean and very calm so the children with us felt very safe in the sea. We hired boats on two days and went to explore the other coves/beaches around the area and iv got to say they were truly stunning, some of them very quiet and only a few locals using them which was great,we got some good snorkelling in and saw lots of sealife. We also used the bus outside hotel to go to Ciutadella. Four euros per person and this was a lovely place to shop and look around. (You still need a face mask on public transport in Menorca) The harbour was beautiful and i would recommend going. We only did half a day but if you like shopping i suggest making a day of it as there were alot of shops to go in and we didnt really have enough time to fit them all in. ( i would note that some of the shops there were a little overpriced though and you could get some much better bargains in Cala Galdana itself). Overall we had a fabulous time and would definatley return to Cala Galdana and to the hotel.
