Disappointed
We have visited Marina Parc three times now. The first two visits were wonderful, the staff were great, food was lovely, rooms were clean. Our third visit however did not meet our expectations and we are really disheartened as it was always a great place to go with the children. The Park has now been taken over by another tour guide company who unfortunately didn’t offer any English speaking staff therefore the entertainment etc was very one sided. Last visit the TUI staff were round the pools gearing up the visitors but this seemed somewhat lacking this time. The food was okay. A variety but not much to offer each night. Always the safe options available of bread and cheese and cold meats. The rooms air con didn’t work properly. We complained Stacie but unfortunately it didn’t make a difference. We therefore ended up all sleeping in the lounge to make the most of the little air con we had. I’m really sad writing this. It was a lovely park where we wanted to continue visiting but we won’t be returning again.
The Worst Hotel we have ever stayed in
We stayed in a 1 Bed Apartment between 23rd October - 30th October which was large but only came with a fridge. The main Air Conditioning Vent had Mould and Water Damage all around it and water leaked from the ceiling in the entrance way. There were signs of rust in the bathroom and the Bathroom Towels provided were stained. We asked for a kettle twice for our room to 2 separate Reception Staff, but nothing ever arrived. We gave up after that. Our room was cleaned each day so that was something positive. As you walked around the complex there was water dripping from Security Cameras and a Fire Hose Station had broken glass. As the week went on very little was tidied in recreational areas and there was damage evident to ceilings. Maintenace everywhere was completely lacking. The onsite Water Park looked like it hadn't seen maintenance in years. What few rubber rings they did have were mostly flat. We stayed about 45 mins before deciding not to risk our health & Safety any further. The food provided was very limited and decreased rapidly as the week went on as they shut down the hotel for the season. You had to queue for 30 - 40 mins each evening to get food so we ate out 6 nights out of 7. We also ate out for lunch a few times as well as the food on offer decreased. Breakfast was a joke by the time we left on Sunday 30th October after a 7 day stay. The pools were freezing cold, and never saw a lifeguard once. They shut down the Pool Bar we were using 3 days before we left. When the Pool Bar was open it shut 1 – 3pm each day so staff could go work in the Restaurant. From what we pieced together from other guests the Hotel used to be very nice and could be again with a large capital investment. But clearly the current operator has allowed the Hotel to fall into complete disrepair. I don’t blame what little staff they had as clearly were doing their best in an impossible situation. The TUI Representative was always dealing with complaints, who we felt sorry for, so didn’t bother adding to their list. We know of at least 1 family who were moved to a different hotel as it was that bad. I have never been so relieved to see our Private Transfer arrive on that Sunday morning as we couldn’t wait to leave. It is real shame as Menorca is lovely and the beach, 10mins from this Hotel is one of the best we have been too. Thank goodness for excellent Local Restaurants only 5 mins walk from the Hotel. I have never seen a situation where there were so many guests eating out and 1 Restaurant which had shut for the season reopening due to the high demand. But given how terrible the Hotel was I can’t blame anyone and even though we are hundreds of pounds out of pocket, even though we paid for All Inclusive, it was the only way not to go hungry. We will be lodging a formal complaint with TUI but suffice it to say a 1 out 5 rating is being generous to this place. It should be shut down and completely overhauled before any other guest is allowed to stay in it even for 1 night.
in the middle
Negatives- The water park, everything works I guess but is it safe, not at all, everything is slippy and the doughnuts they give you to slide down the slides are half deflated or missing handles, the staff if asked will pump air into them, the white slide that has somehow acquired a yellow brown smudge is also joint badly at the bottom and caused many bruises as right in the middle whilst youre going full speed there is a bump that you hit so hard it feels like its basically ripping your bottom off. This was “fixed” by the lifeguard telling you to “lift up” before you go down. 10/10 advice. Buffet lines are long at dinner and ive seen people cue half an hour before opening just to get in on time. Drink lines during the evening are awful but the staff are lovely and near the mini disco the lady working had her own tunes on and seemed happy to be there so that lifted the mood :) Positives- The kitchen staff, The head cheff Lukas was so nice, greeted my family each time we saw him with a bright smile and jokes ofc not for long just whilst he was putting the new food trays into the buffet but still very pleasant and on one Friday night whilst we were there we were greeted with champagne and fresh seafood of all sorts on the grill, the cheff at the grill also amazing never under cooked or rushed and made sure the wait wasnt too long and always served fairly and kept people correctly in line so no one was skipping. You will find the variety of unusual food such a pork shank cooked in beer, pork cheeks and desserts which was very tasty and many salads from all around the world :) they also did a cheddar sauce for pasta one night and i think everyone went absolutely crazy for it, dont think there was one person that night without it on their plates. VERY interesting evening shows filled with culture, absolutely amazing i love every single one and the drinks are actually very nice :) can easily have a great night of just two. They also have a spa with a jacuzzi and sauna with steam room and they do not disappoint personally i loved the fact you had to book it in reception because then it was just your room number enjoying the spa so it was just nice to have some family time :)
