Lovely stay with stunning views
Overall was a great stay, hotel has great facilities, was clean and in a great location. Room – We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment (room 607) which was probably the best room. It was on the top floor on the corner of the hotel overlooking the boat yard and the town. It had 2 balconies (one each side) and was interesting watching them lift the boats out of the water to work on them. The room had everything we needed: there’s 2 good sized bathrooms (one ensuite to the main bedroom), large living area (with dining table, sofa, TV) and a small but well equipped kitchen (large fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, utensils, new sponges etc). Was clean and fairly modern. Hotel – The pool area is really nice (nicer than what the pictures show) with plenty of sun loungers. The water was a bit cold but guess expected for that time of year. The bar is nice, we enjoyed having evening cocktails overlooking the harbour. We did have breakfast on the first day (12 euros each), there was a great selection but flies were a bit of an issue. Location – Is perfect! The area is quiet but you’re still only a stone’s throw away from the main town with restaurants etc. There is free parking outside the front of the hotel and along the harbour. We usually found a space but there is also a free car park nearby. You can park in the hotels private car park for 10 euro a day. Porto Cristo itself is lovely, lots of nice restaurants, stunning views without being too ‘touristy’ – certainly not ‘Brits abroad vibe’ thankfully. I would recommend the following restaurants: Restaurante Cap des Toi (lots of choice and fairly cheap), Quince (either go early or book) and Trattoria del Porto (nice food & view). I would recommend visiting other areas nearby: Cuevas del Drach, Caves D’Arta, Castell de Capdepera and Port de Pollença.
Lovely apartments with amazing view
We stayed at Porto Drach apartments for 4 nights mid-October. We arrived about 11pm Spanish time, & was greeted by a friendly man on check in. He explained a few bits to us & kindly showed us to our room. We asked if they were still serving food or if any of the restaurants nearby were, but there was nothing open apart from Burger King which was around a 10-minute walk so that had to do. Our room was one of the largest apartments I've ever stayed in & very clean. Our daughter had a sofa bed in the living area where there was also a T.V & kitchen area with microwave, sink, 2 ring hob, extractor & under counter fridge. The rooms are separated by large sliding doors & the balcony is accessible from either the living area or the main bedroom. The main bedroom is two single beds pushed together. The bathroom is very spacious with a big walk-in shower. The second night we realised the water was not flowing away properly in the shower, so we called down to reception & maintenance came up & rectified it straight away. Air con works brilliantly! The pool area was lovely & quiet, even in peak season it wouldn't be too busy as there are only around 16-20 sun loungers. You go to reception & receive a token which you give to the lifeguard by the pool to get your towels. The pool area was immaculate! The snack bar is not far from the pool so you can buy drink & food from there to take round the pool. Restaurants are just the other side of the marina, so a 10-minute walk max. from the hotel. We loved Fussio bar, great food & great service. The beach is a further 5 minutes from all the restaurants, again extremely clean & well maintained. We also visited the caves, they were okay, don't see the great hype about them for 40 euros. We also went on the train which takes you around the area so around an hour from start to finish. There is not a lot else around Porto Cristo itself, it's fairly quiet & relaxing. Thank you to all the staff at Porto Drach apartments for making our stay enjoyable & to the cleaners who work tirelessly to maintain the level of cleanliness!
Fantastic 5 night stay September 2022
My partner and stayed at this apartment hotel for 5 nights at the end of September 2022. Check in was hassle free and everyone we spoke to on reception was friendly and helpful. They explained about the pool and restaurant and offered local advice also. We stayed in a standard room without a marina view and were pleasantly surprised. Whilst not being massive it was more than enough for a couple and had a very spacious bathroom. Kitchen had everything you could possibly need and balcony came equipped with table and chairs and sun loungers. We opted not to pay for the marina view but the view from the back of the hotel was just as good looking out over the mountains to the north. Only negative was we got two single beds pushed together as opposed to a double bed. Pool area was clean and perfect for sitting out in the sun. There is about 20 loungers with parasols so may get full during busier months but we had no problems at the end of September. It is next to a working boat yard but that didn't disturb us too much. The pool was very cold but perfect after lounging in the sun for a while. Towels for the pool are provided by the hotel free of charge which was very handy. I think towels could also be taken to the beach if you wish. The bar had a good selection of drinks, including cocktails, at a reasonable price. Drinks could also be taken to the pool area. All the bar staff were very friendly and attentive. We didn't eat in the restaurant but menu seemed to have similar things to other restaurants (pizza/pasta/paella etc) at a similar price. Check out was again very hassle free and the staff very helpful. Check out is at noon and our transfer to the airport wasn't until 14:30, they offered us the choice to the check out later if we wanted but we chose to just leave our bags in the luggage room for a couple of hours whilst we had one last wander round Porto Cristo. The location of the hotel is perfect as it is right on the edge of the town centre. This makes it easy walking distance to the restaurants/shops/beach (about 5-10 minutes) but was quiet enough to sit out on the balcony in peace. It's also just 5 minutes walk from the caves of drach.
