This swanky adult-only hotel has bagged a fantastic location on Majorca’s southeast coast. Just across the road from Playa de Palma’s stunning promenade, you won’t have to wander far for a dip in the Med. This sandside walkway runs all the way to Palma’s bustling centre and is perfect for sundowners with its abundance of beach bars. And if you want to see even more of the island, it also takes you to the neighbouring resorts of El Arenal to the east and C’an Pastilla to the west.
Back at the hotel everything revolves around relaxation. You could easily think you’re in a beach club from the fancy double loungers to the plush white seating areas. As for staying cool, you’ve got two options. Cool off in the roomier, freshwater pool downstairs, or head to the 8th floor and enjoy a rooftop swim in its swanky suspended number. But no adult-only hotel would be complete without a trip to the spa, and this one comes with a whirlpool and sauna. Or if you’re in need of a little self-care, you can always book yourself in for a full body massage.
If exercise helps you relax, there’s a gym on hand as well as a selection of classes including Pilates and yoga. While those who want to take their workouts outside can do just that with an aqua aerobics session.
When you’re starved after all that exercise, there’s two restaurants at your fingertips. Half board and all-inclusive guests will love Formentor’s international buffet spreads with something to please all palates. The spot puts on a seafood night too, so you can chow down on the freshest fish from its ocean-facing terrace. For something a little fancier, check out the hotel’s a la carte, which sits just steps away from the beach. Taking local ingredients and giving them an international touch, take your pick from wasabi prawns, chicken gyozas and surf & turf.
Drinks-wise, there’s a couple of bars keeping you hydrated. The Sky Bar is the place to head for rooftop cocktails while the sun is shining. Take in the clearest Mediterranean vistas from one of its comfy loungers, or dip your toes in the pool. Cosmopolitan Bar is your second option, and it’s open from 10am to midnight.
You’ve got a choice of places to rest your head too. Opt for a twin or double and enjoy standard perks such as a flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi, air conditioning (between June and September), safety deposit box and a hairdryer. If you want to enjoy sunsets from the comfort of your room, you can always upgrade your stay with a sea-facing terrace.

A perfect service, will be back
Very well located, quiet hotel right on the beach with a very courteous service! We felt very welcome and will book the hotel again next year. The buffet is very varied and very good. From the roof terrace with pool you have a fantastic view over the beach and sea to Palma.
Beautiful Off Season
Just back from a late October mini break at the Bahia de Palma. We booked not realising that the hotel would be closing for Winter on 30th. As such, it was exceptionally quiet, but this suited us. We heard that during the summer, it gets very very busy. Here's what we thought overall: 1) Location: Fantastic front line location, in Playa de Palma, just 5 mins from the airport and 15 mins from Palma City. The resort is predominantly German (we didn't realise this before booking) and is close to Arenal, which is a big party resort. We weren't particularly troubled by noise, but can imagine it would be an issue during the summer months. 2) Hotel: Beautifully designed, spotlessly clean & recently renovated. We booked a double sea view room but were persuaded at check in to upgrade to a junior suite. We were glad that we did, as the standard doubles are tiny, but the suite was by no means huge. More like a regular double. We did feel like we were given a bit of a sales pitch to upgrade, but the views were spectacular, so on balance, it was probably worth it. Beds are comfy. Bathroom fairly basic. 3) Food: We stayed half board and this suited us fine. Breakfast was good , dinner was fair. We felt there wasn't quite as much choice as other Iberostar Hotels we have stayed in, but this may have been due to the fact that the hotel was about to close! The restaurant is nicely designed and there are outdoor and indoor seating options. The Maitre D is very friendly and professional. Don't be tempted to opt for All Inclusive. The drinks and snacks are not free flowing and the lunch is A La Carte with very limited choice. 4) Pools: The main pool is beautifully clean and well kept. There is also a stunning, mini infinity pool on the hotel roof, which offers panoramic views of the bay and a bar serving drinks (though this was never open during our stay.) We enjoyed sunbathing here and taking in the breathtaking sea views. We had no problem getting a sunbed, but suspect the terrace gets crowded during peak season. The hotel spa is excellent with a lovely sauna and indoor / outdoor thermal pools. 5) Beach: the beach opposite the hotel is beautiful, with clear shallow waters, ideal for families. There were no sunbeds in late October. The promenade stretches as far as the eye can see, and is great for long walks or bike rides. The restaurants and bars dotted along the front are fairly commercialised. We opted to take a taxi to Palma for dinner instead. In summary - Iberostar Bahia de Palma is a very good 4 star hotel with fantastic views in a great location. It has some very nice touches, such as eco friendly water fountains & wonderful scenting in the lobby and spa! For us, the hotel was ideal for an out of season break combining trips into Palma with days on the beach. If you're planning to book during peak season, just be aware that the resort is very lively. You might also want to check out the Iberostar Selection Playa de Palma, which is 5 star and located just next door. We spent a few hours here on our last day, and it felt a tiny bit more premium.... Thanks to all at Iberostar Bahia de Palma for our much needed sunshine break!
