Awesome family holiday, would definitely recommend.
We have just returned from our first visit to Can Picafort Palace Hotel with our two boys(5,8). We had a wonderful stay. We booked 7 nights half board. We had not stayed on the northern side of the Island before, but the Island is small so most areas are accessible in max an hour. It took us about 50 minutes to get there from the airport, our check-in was smooth and we were assigned a room on the ground floor overlooking the pool area which was amazing. They had music at the pool area as we arrived(18:00) which made me a little anxious being so close, but the sound proofing in the room was pretty impressive if you preferred a quieter stay. The music was played from the bar and pool area at various times of the day which was great, a real holiday feel. We visited in Aug(school holidays for most of Europe) so many other families, which we loved. There was a really relaxed atmosphere in the hotel. The room was perfect for us. We had an apartment for four,a little kitchen area with a hob and fridge, which was ideal for keep lunch supplies, etc. A seating area inside as well as on the balcony. Air conditioning was a life saver, it was quite hot during our stay- peak of summer. Our room was cleaned daily. Hair dryer in the bathroom, usb charging points in the bedroom. There is a small Spar supermarket on the ground floor. A supermarket about 100m down the road a Lidl 3min drive away. The beach is probably 10/15 min walk away with many gift shops and restaurants. Alcudia about 25min drive, Pollença about a 30 min drive. Loved breakfast and dinner, my boys especiallyloved being able to choose their meals from buffet. A joy not to have to cook! There was a large selection of food. In the morning always a cooked breakfast selection as well as mediterranean options, cold meats, pastries, pancakes with chocolatesauce, syrups, cereals, pickles and even churros. Dinner was varied as well, always pasta options which most of the children enjoyed, different dishes on the different evenings some which cater for German visitors as well as Spanish dishes.....Canneloni, steaks, grilled fish, baked fish, roast pork, burgers, always soup, a selection of vegetables, a selection of salads, a large selection of desserts, ice cream and with both meals fresh fruit. During the day there is an entertainment team who facilitate children's activities, aqua gym, volleyball, kids disco, bingo, quizzes etc. While we were there we watched a Magic show, Flamenco dancers and an exotic animal show as well. No music or shows past 2230 which was ideal for us, so a peaceful night. There are also a couple of air hockey tables and pool tables. The pool area is large-a big pool as well as a splash pool. The restaurant is next to the pool, for cocktails or meals. The pool officially shuts at 2000, but we swam until much later after dinner most nights(rules possibly relaxed for the heat?) In all we really enjoyed our stay. Our boys had so much fun. We would definitely recommend the hotel and hope to return. It is dated in decor- perhaps in the reception area- but well maintained and clean. The staff in the dining hall were all very professional and polite. The entertainment team lots of fun.
Pleasant half board stay
As a couple we did a last minute 3 night break here at the palace half board. The hotel and the room we found really clean and tidy, you often saw staff tending the premises or grounds. The hotel decor is dated in places although the rooms/apartments have undergone a refurb which really improves the overall experience, the facilities within the room were more than sufficient for our needs. We only really stuck around for breakfast but found it was fairly acceptable for the price we paid, there was an abundance of staff rushing around. Location was good and has around 30 car spaces next to the hotel although there is street parking nearby if you can find a spot. As mentioned it’s around a 10mins to the Main Street and seafront which is close enough to head out for an evening meal. If your after a cheap get away I’d recommend this hotel based on our experience.
Traumhotel, mit allem was man braucht
We booked the hotel on the spot because our actual accommodation was a total failure. The room price was quite cheap (without breakfast or dinner), cheaper than our actual apartment that we had booked 1 month in advance, but September is off-season. The hotel is no longer the newest, but the rooms are very nice and well equipped. Everything is well maintained and repaired where necessary. The small kitchenette leaves something to be desired in terms of equipment (e.g. dishwashing liquid/sponge), but is otherwise good to use. Paying for WIFI would be ok if it was fast, but it is not. Thanks to good 4G coverage and EU roaming, internet was no problem. We have not tried the food. The staff, from reception to cleaning lady were always super friendly and helpful. The only thing that bothered us a bit was the noise of the animation (extremely loud music in the courtyard) from 20:30 to about 22:00, although only 2-4 children participated. Btw.: Everything was in Spanish, German and English, but everybody was happy to speak Spanish with us.
