Las Arenas is a family-friendly hotel in Can Pastilla, a short drive from the Majorcan capital city of Palma. Can Pastilla is one of several beach resorts that line this stretch of sandy coast. It was once a quiet fishing village, and has since turned into a welcoming holiday base. From the hotel, it's a short stroll to the harbour and beach at Playa de Palma. Las Arenas has a sun terrace and an outdoor swimming pool, where you can relax with a drink from the poolside bar. There's also a smaller, shallow pool for children. The terrace and bar have views out across the sea. The hotel has a restaurant and an outdoor seating area which also overlooks the shore. There are lots of places to sit and relax in the lobby, and there's entertainment in the evenings. The hotel also has a games room and playroom for younger guests. During your stay, you can use some of the facilities at a neighbouring hotel, including its spa. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops a short walk away in the resort. You can stroll along the long, palm-tree-lined promenade, and try the local food at one of the many small kiosks or tavernas.
The beach of Playa de Palma is 50m from the hotel, across the road. The main stretch of Playa de Palma is a Blue Flag Beach, which starts at Can Pastilla and finishes at S'Arenal. The bay curves round towards the harbour and marina, where you can see boats. C'an Pastilla has a maze of narrow old streets with shops and restaurants, as well as the main beachside boulevard. Palma is 8.5km from the hotel. This cosmopolitan city has boutiques, independent shops, bars and restaurants, as well as traditional Majorcan markets. You can visit the Gothic cathedral and museums, or wander around, taking in the atmosphere.
The hotel has a buffet restaurant providing breakfast, lunch and dinner. There's also an a la carte option. The bar by the swimming pool serves drinks, including cocktails. The bar also serves ice cream and snacks during the day. Las Arenas is close to the many restaurants in Can Pastilla and Palma.
During your stay, you can use the private gym and spa at the neighbouring Nautic Hotel. You can also play table tennis and pool.
Each room has a balcony where you can have a chilled drink from your minibar. Inside, there's a TV and air conditioning.

A+++ totally recommended
The rooftop with the swimming pool is the top attraction of this hotel. The view from there is just incredible. The rooms are clean, the beds are super comfortable and every is modern and cozy. Breakfast was really varied and the staff was very nice and polite, not to mention that even the cleaning lady gave us some nice advice about where and how to go and visit the city!
bad stay
Located 5 minutes from the air port and has s lovely sea view but other than that not great. Stayed for 5 nights the receptionist on arrival was rude and unprofessional asked for holiday tax straight away and the hotel was more concerned about there money then treating there customers with respect. Got to the room and the walls had black marks all over it and the sheets were dirty and marks on the hotel seat. Came to complain the next day and we were offered a complementary dinner but wasn't very nice. On checkout we were told we could use the shower downstairs by the gym but when we got there we got stuck and had to call the hotel which cost a premium fee as we are from the United Kingdom . Your colleagues sent the maintenance man down straight away which we are grateful for however we have a long journey ahead of us and reception refused to give us a room to shower for 20mins since the shower was not able to be used as we got stuck and missed our taxi to the airport. because of the inconvenience. My friend was very upset. It was almost as though the staff did not care and were unwilling to accommodate customers who have paid a premium to stay with you. This is not the standard of a 4/5 star hotel. I have emailed the hotel about this and have had no response back so i will recommend this hotel to anyone else! Kind regards Georgina Vickery
Compact rooms
The hotel is an excellent location, five minutes in a taxi from the airport, a 1 minute walk from the beach and ten minutes in a taxi to Palma City Centre. The hotel itself is very clean and we found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful, big shout out to David at the roof top bar who provides an excellent service whilst guests are sunning themselves. The communal bar areas are good and their are plenty of places to sit both inside and outside. Breakfast had lots of choice for all palettes and their are plenty of places to sit and eat. The roof top pool area is fine but very small and their are only 20 or sun loungers available so you need to be in the queue at 10am to get one.. There are other beds to use but these are chargeable for the day, these should be removed and normal sun loungers put in the their place. The pool on the ground floor only has 8 sun loungers and is mostly in shade. Both pools are plunge pools and not swimming pools so are just used to help you cool off. The rooms are very small and all have twins beds. The safe in the room is chargeable at 3 euros a day which again should be free. The bathrooms are fine except for the glass screen between the bathroom and the bedroom which is strange. More and more hotels are doing this and it is just odd. It is fine if you are sharing a room with your partner but if you are with a friend it is just a little odd. My biggest grip about the hotel is the air conditioning, is just isn't powerful enough across the whole hotel and therefore keeping cool and sleeping is really difficult. We stayed in early September when the outside temperature was 30 degrees. It does get hotter than this in Mallorca and therefore something does need to be done. Overall the hotel is fine however there are better choices in the resort for the same price with better facilities.
