Beautiful room IF you go premium, great view, food is dire

Oct 2021 | Cassieollie
So.. we paid for premium & our room was lovely with a half sea view, cleaned daily. A coffee machine & kettle but no tea coffee sugar or milk so had to go buy our own. The pool area was lovely with very comfy sunbeds... now this is where the positive ends.. the food is utterly shocking, they put food out all day in the vip bar by the pool, it was cold, covered in wasps, flies & ants, disgusting!! If you pay premium you still eat the same crap food in the school type canteen as non premium guests. 4 star this is NOT! The food is repetative for the whole week, lunch & dinner, its cold & there's a microwave sat there as they must know its cold! Honestly, it's absolutely rubbish & ended up both poorly from the food so we ended up having to eat out every day / night which used up all our spending money so didn't get to go on any trips. The centre opposite is very run down & a lot of places permanently closed, the bars that have survived are nice, quite expensive though. This hotel is so isolated there's literally nothing to do & the area isn't particularly nice. We were so bored & it's been a total waste of money coming here! We made a complaint to our holiday company whilst there & the hotel rang our room & asked to pop to reception when free to discuss our matters, we did to be told the manager was unavailable! I then receive a message from my holiday company saying the manager has informed us you have spoken & all has been rectified & your happy...errr??? I informed holiday company this was not true so they contacted the hotel again, the response was I was invited down but never turned up & no other guests had issues with the food... there weren't many English guests there but the ones we met it was topic of passing conversation.. hi, foods crap isn't it?! And perhaps they ought to read the trip advisor reviews, all confirming how dire the food is! 4 star..not a chance! Avoid!

Brumies Oct 2021

Just arrived back from this lovely hotel, great location, over looking the sea, nice views, pools, gardens, close to shops, bars, restaurants, in the Shopping complex. Our room 710, in the Premier AI block was a modern room, great shower, fantastic sea view, cleaned everyday. Apparently 4 years old. Most Staff, cleaners, reception, bar staff, animation team all worked hard , helpful, with a smile. Issues with the hotel, is that it’s not 4*. The restaurant is more like a canteen, The food was ok, plenty of choice, fish and meats every evening and lunch, great salads, but overall nothing special. The staff in there, never looked happy, not very welcoming!! Evening Entertainment very poor. Went out every night. We would recommend booking the premier room, as we heard the older original block, wasn’t a very nice experience. We spoke to people who got moved to the new block. Only issues with our room was the sealant around the shower, it was dirty, mouldy, just needs bleaching or changing. No English TV channels, not even 24 Hr BBC news?? A coffee machine with no coffee or sugar?? Just water in the mini fridge?? Out and about, Cala Mallorca is isolated and distant from other resorts. Beautiful beach nearby, lovely walk along the coast, don’t forget to feed the cats! Shopping complex not fully open, a lot of empty units, but still plenty of good but empty bars and restaurants, no live entertainment. Comic Elvis in City cafe was the only one we saw, brilliant. Great food at the Pizzeria Venecia recommend for a special meal. Our favourite bars were the Travelers Inn, and Cafetería la Plaza. Very welcoming bars. Plenty of holiday shops. Overall, we had a lovely late holiday, weather good, 23/24c most days, but not enough going on,in the hotel, or in Cala Mallorca.

Hotel was good to be honest staff did try and be accommodating cleaned regularly location not great unless you are prepared to hire a car or pay for taxis to go anywhere as you are very captive to a handful of bars and trinket shops directly in front of the hotel. we were disappointed as we were originally booked elsewhere in which had been chosen for its location and expected at least like for like. Sadly not.
