Barcelo Ponent Playa is a beachfront hotel in Cala d'Or, on Majorca's popular east coast. It's steps from the nearest sandy cove, Cala Ferrera, where you can paddle in the shallow water. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, plus a shallow pool for children. You can dine at the buffet restaurant, which offers a selection of international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Further afield, you could take a day trip to the island's capital, Palma, where you can explore medieval streets, lined with boutiques, craft studios and bars.
