Quiet hotel with fabulous views
Fabulous hotel with splendid views over a pretty cove. A large clean hotel built into the side of a rocky cliff face. Perfect for a quieter get away, this would probably suit mature couples rather than families or young people looking for nightlife. Low key entertainment. Being all-inclusive the beer is great, the wine is OK and the spirits not worth mentioning. Food is good with plenty of salads & cold meats, although not a huge selection of deserts.
I wouldn't return
I don't normally leave reviews but thought I would due to so many recent reviews I'd read before we went I was put off... I will start with the positives which were the views, absolutely stunning, all the staff very friendly too, clean hotel, beds made every morning, floors cleaned, clean towels left, toilets clean, bar area clean, overall friendly staff and clean hotel. The negatives... food in evening poor, nothing for children apart from chips and pasta, loads of pork or fish not a massive selection of other foods and not a great selection of desserts, not really snacks at bar was a few pastries and few sandwiches, breakfast was alright toast, cereal, fruit, pancakes basic hot food egg, beans, sausage, didn't go hungry but was very basic and boring having same thing nearly every night we ate out one night and if being honest if we had more money we would of gone more but being a larger family it costs us €100+ for one meal out... Entertainment in the evening wasn't all that great, nothing for children which was told due to end season which didn't make sense as we'd been to Majorca right end of October and entertainment was fantastic for children and then adults, shows, discos was brilliant but here was absolutely nothing for children and the evening was few singers, basic game night and a dance show which was the best out them all but found it too late be on as there was nothing in-between so had make our own entertainment until the hotel ones started there is pool table but at €2 a go it starts get expensive... the pool was alright, steps very wobbly and also in kids pool which found dangerous thankfully no falls, the bigger pool is very deep! Music round pool depends where sat as if sat baby pool end could hardly hear it... The hotel does need massive revamp even though is kept clean it is very old, smells of sewages on some days which came into rooms. The worst part was the walk to the beach due to access being closed off because next door being closed you have to walk along road side all the way down and is an absolute hike coming back was awful!! Absolutely not good for those with mobility or health problems is it brutal especially in hot weather, such a shame as the beach is absolutely beautiful and can rent out pedlos, canoes, paddleboards but because of them hike back you feel put off going down there, there are taxis at bottom sometimes so can get lift back up but costs €7. Few shops at bottom, no cigarettes or tobacco products for sale at the shops there are disposable vapes though and we saw a cigarette vending machine in one the restaurants. Overall an OK holiday would been better if entertainment and food was better and if the access to the beach was open or they done a little shuttle service down to beach or atleast We wouldn't return...
Fantastic location but disappointing
The hotel is very dated, curtains & pelmets have damp & mould on them, don't accept a room on 2nd floor, it smells really damp. There are no free toiletries, there is a soap dispenser on the wall above the bath, so you may want to take some soap. The AC is very noisy, there isn't a fridge in the room & no drying facility on the balcony. We had some ants, which housekeeping had to treat, the cleaners & staff are very helpful tbf. There isn't enough choice of hot food at meal times, it was grilled or stewed pork & fish nearly every day & almost nothing for children, however, there's always lots of fresh salad & cold meats, which are very well presented. & the food we did have was well cooked. The furniture in the dining room is very old with vinyl wrap on the tables & stained chairs. The path way down to the beach has been closed off due to building work next door, so it's a long walk down & back up a steep hill, certainly not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties & we felt isolated on an evening. The evening entertainment is mixed, Elton on a Saturday is good fun, there's a nice terrace to sit out on at the 3rd floor bar & the AI drinks package is good, apart from the pre mixed cocktail machine & the bar staff are really nice. There is a bus service at the bottom of the hill, but we wouldn't have wanted to be here without a car. There is also a cave within walking distance, slightly up hill that's worth a visit.
