Sandos El Greco

Sandos El Greco is an adult-only hotel, in the away-from-it-all resort of Portinatx, northern Ibiza. A wide range of activities are possible locally including water sports, boat trips and snorkelling. Prefer to stay on dry land? There’s plenty of hiking and cycling opportunities around the gorgeous local countryside. For great vistas, you don't have to go too far, thanks to the resort being built into a hillside.

On site the hotel runs a wide range of activities including pool, table tennis and petanque tournaments, bingo, quizzes and Latin dancing. They also organise day trips to nearby points of interest, such as Moscater Lighthouse and Portinatx Tower.

Those intent on relaxing can visit The Wellness Centre, offering numerous different treatments from deep tissue to relaxing Thai massages, as well as a variety of beauty treatments. If you prefer to be in the sun, you can always relax on a lounger by the outdoor pool.

The Ibosim buffet restaurant offers Mediterranean and international cuisine, with views looking out to the Mediterranean Sea. You don’t need to get up early to ensure you get breakfast, as it is served until 10:30am. For lunch, why not try pizza from the Italian corner?

There’s four bars to choose from, including one poolside. So chill out with a Piña Colada or Mojito anytime you want between 9am and midnight. The Snack Bar, open from 3pm to 5pm, offers American style fast food, such as cheeseburgers and hotdogs, alongside fresh fruit. Named drink brands are not included as part of the all-inclusive package.

Rooms include a balcony/terrace, air conditioning, hairdryer, TV with satellite channels, mini fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and beach towels.

A day trip to Ibiza Town is possible from Sandos El Greco. Here, you'll find the UNESCO-listed old town with its Gothic and Renaissance architecture, stone courtyards and ornate chapels. There's also an open-air cinema where you can sit back and enjoy a classic film. While there is a bus route to Ibiza Town, which stops outside the hotel, do check the timetable carefully as it’s only a limited service.

If the heat gets too much for you then Marçà Caves are just a 25-minute drive from the hotel. Formed 100,000 years ago, they make even the oldest buildings in Spain seem very young in comparison!

Staff made our holiday!

Oct 2021 | Angela T
We stayed at this hotel from 9th - 16th October. As it happened it was the last week before the hotel closed for the season. I have to say this didn't affect our holiday at all. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay here. I would particularly like to give a special mention to Daniel who was just amazing. The hotel was clean, the food was plentiful and varied. All in all a lovely holiday.

Fantastic Bit Of The last Summer Sun

I stayed here with my mum for a week at the beginning of October and had a fabulous time! We went for a superior room which we were pleased about as it was quite a bit bigger than a standard one. The food and drinks were great always a varied choice, we also visited the al la carte restaurant on site which is 100% worth the trip. The staff were brilliant especially the entertainment team and the staff in the main restaurant. All in all a fabulous stay and great value for money!!

Repeat visit

This is a fairly decent hotel with the potential to be an awful lot better. We had previously stayed at this hotel for a short break a couple of years ago and had enjoyed our break so decided to try it for a 2 week holiday with friends. On the whole we had a good time and were glad we had upgraded to Royal Elite as the view from our rooms were very good, one room however was situated next to the main extraction tower from the kitchen which wasn’t ideal and we did raise this issue with the assistant hotel manager who assured us she would try and move us, alas this didn’t happen but to be fair perhaps we should have pressed on with this issue but as we were on a much needed holiday we didn’t want to keep chasing. Royal Elite: in our opinion definitely worth doing as the beach club had easy access to the beach and a fabulous bartender in Nano - he is a huge asset to this hotel and made the best Mojitos! The furnishings were a tad tired however could do with an upgrade. Food: The buffet is plentiful and had a fairly decent selection, all be it a little eclectic at times - chicken in Coca Cola…… service wise we were looked after by the fantastic waiter Luca for the majority of our stay - this guy is a star and needs to be utilised at a higher level. The restaurant manager ‘C’ wasn’t in any way welcoming and there was another member of the waiting staff who was extremely out of order towards us during our stay, however this was dealt with efficiently and effectively by Emma & Heike. We dined at the A la Carte restaurant Xaloc twice and it was absolutely wonderful - the service was exemplary and the food was beautiful. We had snacks from both the snack bar and the beach club had canapés which were both decent. Cleanliness: generally our room was fairly good but around the hotel the standards weren’t as good as our previous visit. We used the facility whereby you can shower if you have a later checkout - my honest advice would be to wear flip flops and brace yourself if using this, the rooms were (I think) from when the hotel was first built and were grim. Beach & Portinatx: the beach is lovely and we enjoyed the easy access to it from the Royal Elite beach club, Portinatx is small and quiet with a few restaurants - one of which we dined at one night (Rebrots) and it was fantastic. There is a bus service from near the hotel that goes to Ibiza Town which runs a couple of times a day and provides an escape if you fancy a bit more life. Entertainment: Finette was great and is an asset to the hotel, personally we didn’t go for this side of the holiday but she was very personable and not pushy which was refreshing. All in all I’d give the hotel 3 and a half stars.
