What’s the weather like on the Costa Brava in December?
Located on the coast of Spain to the north of Barcelona and just a short distance from the French border, Costa Brava is a popular beach region with a Mediterranean climate. This brings sunshine and hot temperatures during the summer, and cooler, wetter weather in the winter. December marks the start of the winter season, with cool mornings, mild afternoons and chilly nights. Some days are showery, but there’s also plenty of sunshine at this time of year.
In December, the average temperature on the Costa Brava is a cool 8°C, with highs of 13°C in the
afternoons. At night, temperatures drop to an average low of 3°C, so make sure you bring jumpers and a winter coat for evenings out. One third of days have sunshine at this time of year, while 45mm of rain’s predicted over the course of eight damp days across the month. If you want to take a dip in the sea, the Mediterranean waters are 16°C in December.
