What's the weather like in Costa Brava in October?
Located in the northeast of Spain, the Costa Brava’s a coastal region with fairly typical Mediterranean weather. The area has slightly cooler and wetter weather than other destinations on the Spanish coast and you'll see more rain as October goes on. You'll still get plenty of sun at this time though as the region’s protected by the Pyrenees mountains, which trap westerly winds and rains. They also send the cool tramuntana winds down to the coast, meaning you can have different weather from bay to bay. The weather’s unpredictable because the Costa Brava feels the effects of weather systems that arrive from Europe, the Atlantic, the Mediterranean and North Africa.Averages
The average high on the Costa Brava is 22ºC in October, so it’s still perfectly warm for relaxing on the beach. Temperatures fall to a cool 11ºC at night though so you should bring some warmer clothes for the evenings. At 19ºC, the sea’s very refreshing, while humidity’s low. There’s 82mm of rain over 11 days, and you can expect 11 hours of daylight with six hours of sunshine each day. UV levels will be moderate. Sunset’s around 7.30pm at the start of the month.
