    Madeira weather July

What’s the weather like in Madeira in July?

Located off the coast of North Africa, the Portuguese island of Madeira has a warm Mediterranean climate despite being in the Atlantic Ocean. With lovely warm summers, July is a great time for enjoying the golden and volcanic sand beaches, while cooler air ensures you can get out and about exploring the island, or trying out some watersports.

At the start of the month, average daytime temperatures in Madeira hover around 23°C, with highs of 26°C in the afternoons. At this time of year the Atlantic waters are a mild 22°C, perfect for cooling off after a morning in the sun, while gentle sea breezes keep the edge off the summertime heat. In July the chance of rain is low, with an average of just 6mm expected through the whole month. If you do get caught in a shower it will likely be light and brief.
