Nice grounds and services, older rooms.
The resort grounds were beautiful and well kept, and the Walt Disney staff was friendly and helpful. It's good to see WDW recover from the COVID chaos. The rooms were somewhat dated, and while the a/c was noisy, we were able to sleep without air in February, and the resort is quiet. Food and snacks were readily available in the hotel bar and cafeteria. Busses to the parks were plentiful. You can also get to Disney Springs by boat - 30 minutes. Room had refrigerator and in-room safe.
Beautiful setting poor food!
Just had a 7 night stay positive was regular bus service to all parks (don’t take one from infront of building as it’s the last stop and always full) try and pick up on the other 3! The resort was immaculate and great pool etc, we did fishing twice which was great fun.the downside was the food no variety at all and what it did service was expensive and poor quality! Good little shop on site -top tip if you want toast buy load from shop and toast it for free everyday!
Enjoyable stay
This is our first time staying at PO Riverside. Our previous stays in Disney have been Pop, Movies, PO French quarters, and our last visit being 2017, the beach and Yacht club. As we were staying in multiple locations in Florida we chose the moderate resort due to cost and availability. Now staying in Disney is not a cheap, and you can find accommodation outside Disney that would be cheaper. However, you are paying for the convenience of the Disney buses, the convenience of going to different parks and popping back to your Disney hotel for a rest, and not forgetting the “Disney experience”. We like the convenience of having a few hours in the park then heading back to the room for a rest, or going to a different park. Since our last visit in 2017 a lot has changed in Disney, being the Genie plus, Lightening lanes. This has replaced what we knew as fast passes. On this visit, we didn’t like the introduction (during covid and still in existence) of having to book a park before arrival, and not being permitted to park hop until after 2pm. Often we had finished what we wanted to do in that allocated park before 2pm. Hopefully, Disney may knock this on the head soon. We were allocated room 9024 in the Magnolia section. The room was well equipped and immaculately cleaned. Plenty of towels and the shower was red hot straight away. Beds very comfortable. During our stay we only had Mousekeeping once. This was not an issue to us, but, I believe Disney are reinstating daily Mousekeeping. The room was a little dark, but, this is due to the dark decor. It was nice to see hard flooring, rather than unhygienic carpet. All staff members we encountered were friendly. The grounds are immaculately kept too. We did have a fantastic time in Disney, hired a boat from Contemporary, used the Skyline from one parks and looked around at several other Disney hotels. However, we do prefer French quarters out of the two PO resorts. French quarters was fully booked at the time. It is smaller, quieter, and you don’t have to go around all the bus stops to get home. We also noticed this time, the bus stop announcements didn’t happen on the buses, as in “North Depot” etc, the announcements would of been particularly helpful in the evening when too dark outside to see which stop we were at. In the dining area French quarters seemed to have more modern fizzy drink dispensers that had more choice of drinks on offer too. We enjoyed the walk from French Quarter to Riverside along the river. We took the boat to Disney Springs, but waited a long time for this, another family missed their dining reservations due to the length it took for the boat to arrive. They had left over an hour to get there. Therefore, I would advise anyone with dining reservations leave more than an hour or get the bus.
